[The video flips on and a young boy with golden blonde hair and somber blue eyes blinks slowly into the camera for a few moments. His speech is hesitant and his manner apologetic.]

Hi.

I, um... I think this is working now. Can anyone hear me? ...I'm sorry if I'm not doing this right; I've never used anything like this before. But they said this was how I could communicate with everyone, so... hello.

[He shifts uneasily as he speaks, though he manages a small smile as he introduces himself; his gaze falls now on a point just slightly right of the camera. Technology was not something he was terribly familiar with using - or ever really wanted to be.]

My name is Lucas. And it's very nice to meet all of you. I guess I'm using this now, because I... I'm happy to be here and help, I am, but I don't think I really understand why I'm here. I mean, I do understand about the monsters and the 'demons' and all of that kind of thing, and... of course, I want to help, but what I mean is... I'm not sure I understand why me and why... now. I-I know it's a bit selfish, but I...

I'm very tired.

Do you think I can go home for a little bit before I start here? I promise I'll come back and help; it's just -- you see, the thing is, I sort of needed to see if there was a home to go back to, still, and then this happened, and I really should... check.

[He swallows, and his eyes flicker to his feet as his speech becomes ever more incoherent.]

Um. Sorry, that didn't come out right at all. It's not like that -- I mean, it is, a little bit, but not very; it all should be fine, I just -- Oh!

...I'm sorry. This wasn't how this was supposed to go.

[He blinks hard and brushes briefly at his eyes before reaching to fiddle with the COMP, trying to turn it off. It will take him some time to be successful.]

Okay, so either the Professor is pulling a huge fuck you on me for leaving, everyone in this town is sharing some kind of mass delusion, or I actually got kidnapped to a Japanese city in another world to fight monsters.

Someone remind me why I'm believing the third one?

[He rubs at his eyes, then looks a bit more cheerful as he keeps speaking.]

Free room and board just for beating shit up, though. The place I came from could learn from this Philemon guy. All I wanna know is if there's any other mutants around - that's Homo Superior, the evolution beyond humans, not whatever you might call mutants in some other world. As good as this all sounds, I'm not sticking around if demons are my only alternative to humans.

I guess I'm new here. This place is really weird. It doesn't make sense.

Hospital food sucks. They told me I needed to get my strength up by eating, but how are you supposed to eat when everything tastes like cardboard?

Also 'combat fatigue' is a stupid sounding diagnosis. It just sounds like you took a nap during a battle.

... I know how to take care of kittens, but I don't know anything about medicine. Does anyone know about animal medicine? Or... I guess I can go to a vet here. It's kind of expensive, though.

I haven't seen a lot of animals around anyway. It's weird.

[She had waited a few days to make this announcement, just in case they came back or it turned out to be some sort of fluke, but nothing changed; almost every single one of her friends and family had left the city. And for the sake of those who had come to consider them their friends after all the time they had spent making here their home, Kairi figured she ought to put out a message on the network about the situation.]

For those of you you knew Aqua, Terra, Xion, Sora, or Riku... they've all returned home.

[The redhead could feel a lump catching in her throat, unsure if she could add anything on to that statement without breaking her composure; the sense of denial about the situation was finally crumbling. With a deep breath, her eyes shy away from the camera, giving it a final small nod before she turns off the feed.]

[When the feed clicks on, it reveals Nano standing in front of the Amagi Inn, wearing a yukata and with her hands folded in front of her. There's a sad look in her eyes that she's doing her best to hide, but since she's always been pretty bad at that sort of thing, it's probably pretty evident that she'd been crying before making this broadcast. She sniffles for a moment, rubs her eyes, and takes a deep breath to compose herself before beginning to speak.]

Hello, everyone. My name is Nano Shinonome.

[She bows politely to the camera before continuing.]

For those of you who knew her, Yukiko Amagi-san has returned home. [She gestures behind her.] Her family's business, the Amagi Inn, is still here in the Scorpio District. Yukiko-san left a note here that said if she were to leave Hinoto-Ri, she would like me and her friend Kanji Tatsumi-san to take care of it in her place. I want to do my best for Yukiko-san, since she's one of the closest friends I've had since coming here myself, but most of the inn's staff except for the Pyro Jacks that heat the water are gone too, and with school starting again next month, I'm not sure I'll have enough time to do the thorough job this inn deserves.

[There is a small sigh as Nano closes her eyes, pausing to compose herself again. She wants to come off professionally.]

So because of this, I'd like to interview some people for positions working at the inn. I'm going to work here myself on some evenings and on the weekends, but since my own house is in the city too, I won't be able to be here all the time. If anyone is interested in working at the inn, please contact me and we can talk about it more privately.

I think we'll need some people to work at the front desk greeting guests, people to clean the rooms, and a small staff to work in the kitchen preparing meals. There are some rooms for the employees to stay in if anyone would like to move in for convenience's sake, and the hot spring out back is open too for when you're not working a shift. I'd like to get some people quickly so the inn doesn't have to close while we wait to fill the positions, so if you're interested, please reply as soon as possible.

[Another deep breath, a smile, and one last polite bow.]

"Hello. This is Hoshino Ruri. I was wondering two thing. Firstly have any of you ever made a model kit? I had one requested of me and while I had several crew members who built them in the past, they are all at home so I can't ask for help with them."

"Oh yes, also if any of you are good at sewing things, and discreet, I need some assistance with a project. For me. Nothing too complicated just I don't know how to sew."

She looks around and lets a breath out, still looking deadpan, but with a slightly more annoyed tone in her voice.

"Also, something of mine has gone missing. A passport from the nation of Peaceland. If you see it could you please get it for me? Something worthless here, but it is one of my few ties to my biological family, even if I hardly know them."

So.

Say you have a machine, it's from your world but it has a flaw. One that you can't actually fix yourself because well. You can't.

It wouldn't go well if you tried, but getting someone else to repair it is a bit tricky. Because you don't want it to be changed too much, but you want it to be working properly. And there is the fact that you don't know any of the people who could fix it nor how good they are at what they do.

Case 2: Pixieventures

[Apollo appears in front of the camera today, but he's not alone! He's accompanied by four pixies, all flitting around him in a square around his head. A giggle can be heard from behind the camera, indicating a camera pixie as well. Apollo tries to move his head away from the fairy wings, only for the pixies to follow his movements in synchronized formation. Sighing with exasperation, he finally speaks.]

Hey, everyone! It's Apollo. I've got some good news to share with everybody.

One weird thing about the law firm I work for now is that we also defend demons. I was really unsure about it at first, but... I guess it didn't turn out so bad. [The upper-left pixie scowls and begins to pull on Apollo's ear.] Ow! Hey, I'm sorry! I'm just not used to working with demons, that's all! [The pixie releases his ear and gives a small "hmph" of displeasure.]

Anyway! For my second case, I had to defend a pixie- this one right here, in fact. [He points to the lower-left pixie.] This is Genevieve! She was accused of the murder of another pixie, but it turned out that a Hua Po did it. I thought it was going to be a close call, but I won the case! Genevieve is Not Guilty. Isn't that a relief? [Genevieve nods.]

That's it for now! I'm just saying that, if you've made any demon friends here and they get into trouble, you can send them my way. ...Even though I'd kind of prefer human clients again... [The upper-left pixie yanks on Apollo's ear again.] Ow! H-hey, cut that out!

[Video] Of Pranks, Requests, & Finishing What One Started

[You may have seen a certain Reploid looking around the city in the daytime lately, particularly near or in the public Aquila Library in the Aquarius Ward. His face looks somewhat annoyed on the feed that he has to ask the Hinoto-Ri network about this, but... sometimes before one can help with a request, one must first ask for help themselves. His voice, for those that have encountered him before, oddly possesses less of a monotone edge than before, despite his current demeanor.]

Does anyone have books on robots? I asked the library here, but all their books on the subject were out. The clerk at the front desk thought they had something though...

[It probably has nothing to do with the fairies overhearing him asking for them at the counter, nor the sections of anything pertaining to machines (and industrialism by extension) suddenly entirely empty of their shelves. Probably.]

[Hello, network. You find a young highschooler poking at the camera and quirking ann eyebrow.]

Oi, this thing's on, right? I need to talk to people here! It's important!

So...I don't know any of you, probably, but - I'm Gentarou Kisaragi! I'm going to become friends with everyone in Hinoto-Ri!

[He grins for a good long moment, before he puts a hand to his chin.]

But, did someone take my belt? It's kind of yay big - [He stretching his hands out to full length, separating them about head width apart.] And I came here with it! I usually keep it on hand, but when I woke up this morning, I, well...

[The camera zooms out, and it shows Gentarou in all his glory - in an odd black and white jumpsuit, complete with a cape that stretches down his back. A ghost-like insignia is emblazoned across the front of his chest. But it doesn't look like the outfit really... fits him.]

I was wearing this! [He sounds somewhat confused, looking away and smoothing his pompadour, before returning to the camera.] If anyone knows where my belt is, I'd really appreciate it! Maybe we an be friends, too!

But uh... first I'd kind of like my belt back. I told a friend I'd make sure I took care of it!

[And on that note, he fumbles with the new device, eventually ending the feed.]
