First Switch: On! - [VIDEO]

[Hello, network. You find a young highschooler poking at the camera and quirking ann eyebrow.]

Oi, this thing's on, right? I need to talk to people here! It's important!

So...I don't know any of you, probably, but - I'm Gentarou Kisaragi! I'm going to become friends with everyone in Hinoto-Ri!

[He grins for a good long moment, before he puts a hand to his chin.]

But, did someone take my belt? It's kind of yay big - [He stretching his hands out to full length, separating them about head width apart.] And I came here with it! I usually keep it on hand, but when I woke up this morning, I, well...

[The camera zooms out, and it shows Gentarou in all his glory - in an odd black and white jumpsuit, complete with a cape that stretches down his back. A ghost-like insignia is emblazoned across the front of his chest. But it doesn't look like the outfit really... fits him.]

I was wearing this! [He sounds somewhat confused, looking away and smoothing his pompadour, before returning to the camera.] If anyone knows where my belt is, I'd really appreciate it! Maybe we an be friends, too!

But uh... first I'd kind of like my belt back. I told a friend I'd make sure I took care of it!

[And on that note, he fumbles with the new device, eventually ending the feed.]

You... It's not even been a week, and you've lost your belt?

[Face, meet palm. He's gonna try and ignore the outfit, though. For now.]

It's not my fault! I remember exactly where I put it! But it wasn't there this morning! I wouldn't just misplace it like that!

[IT WAS THE FAIRIES SENPAI, I SWEAR.]

[Luckily stuff like this is par for the course in Hinoto-Ri. And from his experience with Stuff Going Wrong™, if stuff wasn't missing, it wasn't functional, or something in that vein.

Shoutarou sighs, then shakes his head.]

Well. We can't have you beltless if stuff like this is going on. I'll start asking around.

[He sighs, a little relieved.] Thanks, man. I'm sorry I'm causin' so much troubl-

Oop, wait, hold on.

[AND AFTER READING THE BELOW REPLY.]

Uh- found it!

[Great thing about public posts is that everyone can see them! Hoo boy, that looks like a mess.]

...should we give you a hand with that?

It might be a little wise! Though I do have this ring that came with this suit...

[He puts it on and then... oop, well, goodbye ground.]

W-Woah! I can fly!

[No Gentarou STOP THAT--ugh it's too early in the morning to be playing Responsible Sempai.]

...yeah, I'll get my hat and just look for the chaos.

I can handle it, I think! It's not the first time I've flown - woah!

[He drifts a bit from side to side. It is the first time he's flown without being sustained by the Rocket Switch.]

I'll meet you there, then!? No worries!

Just call it detective's intuition on this, Gen. And yeah, I'll be there.

[And then Shoutarou hangs up so he's not as distracting. And what he's calling "detective's intuition" is more like personal experience.]

Oh my god!

[Gentarou will, of course, recognize the helmet and suit that appears on the screen. Or maybe he's never seen it from the outside. The voice is that of a teenaged girl's.]

I was just about to call for help! Is this thing yours?!

[...Upon closer examination, the helmet and suit appearing to be moving quite quickly if the background movement is any indication. Phantom Girl's words are punctuated with the occasional 'GET OUT OF THE WAY' and 'SORRY WHOOPS I'LL PAY YOU BACK LATER'.]

Which button is stop I've pressed all of them and they just keep making bigger problems one of them is a drill -- oh wait I think I missed this o -- oh my god it just shot a rocket hold on

[well this was promising]

F-Fourze!? Wait, hold on-!

[ WELP THIS IS ALREADY OFF TO A SUPERB START. He's trying to figure it out, oh god.]

Y-You're using Rocket and Drill and Launcher!?

[He's hustling out of the door. NO TIME TO CHANGE OUT OF THE JUMPSUIT.]

Where are you?

I don't know! I've only been here like, two weeks! The school?! I think that's a school I just passed!

[That would be the Aquarius district, if she was correct. The view changes now to one from Phantom Girl's perspective - the missile is in sight as it zooms down a thankfully largely empty expanse of street.]

...Aaaugh I'm going to have to phase it out -- you're going to get some crackling for a while. Please hurry!

[With that cryptic remark, she puts on speed and stretches out an arm, closing the distance between her and the missile. And then as she predicts, everything crackles into black.]

E-Eh!? Hold on!

[Okay now she's in trouble and he has to go help! He figures out where the Aquarius is (roughly, he's not exactly the best at working through maps) and heads out looking for you - using the handy dandy ring that came with your jumpsuit.

Unfortunately, he's not used to the idea of self-sustained flight, so his flight patterns are a little... erratic as he zooms into the Aquarius District, looking for you.]

Hello!? It's Gentarou! Gentarou Kisaragi!

[Gentarou will be met with nothing but silence for a long while. Is it too late?! Has she exploded?! Have her remnants been scattered across the Aquarius district, never to be given a proper farewell???

...And then comes the sound of screaming in a gradual crescendo; this is followed suddenly, inexplicably by the eruption of the person in the Rider costume straight up from the ground - clutched in her hand is the missile that had been released earlier, still flying wildly out of control. Yet every time the missile and its attached baggage are about to strike something, it passes straight through the object without harm.]

Aaaaaaaaauuuu -- Oh!

[Phantom Girl and the missile come flying past Gentarou eventually.]

Are you -- that -- ...guy?!

...Wow, that costume does not flatter your bui -- I mean. Hurry and tell me how to stop this!

[Oh jeez. He jumps back as the girl in the commandeered rider gear bursts from the ground, backing up and watching you phase through, still hanging onto the missile.]

Y-yeah! It's me! [He takes to the air to try and keep pace with you, bobbing and weaving past the things you're phasing through. THIS IS TERRIFYING.]

The red switches on the front! Not the top switches! [He pats at his waistline from the front to emphasize this.] Flip those four up! You'll transform back!

[And he ducks under a low-hanging bridge, kind of spiralling now as he tries to keep pace. This is clearly not going well at all.]

Transform back? I think I'm in my nighties!

[Clearly this is every bit as important as avoiding blowing anything up or otherwise causing any more major property damage. Phantom Girl fumbles for a few moments as she reaches towards the switches he's talking about.]

This had better work...

[And with one deft movement, she flips all four switches simultaneously.]

[Congratulations! You have deactivated the Fourze Driver! With the flash of a bright light and some smoke effects, you are back in whatever you were wearing before this.

Unfortunately, you are without a propulsion system and probably still tumbling through the air. Luckily that's why Gentarou has been keeping pace this whole time, as he moves in underneath to grab you, unsure if you can actually. Fly or not.

ASSUMING THE GRAB IS SUCCESSFUL, he will attempt to figure out how the hell slowing down is a thing and instead probably dives into a controlled crash that leaves both of you tumbling safely onto the ground, with the threat of out of control Rider gear neutralized.]

[Fwumph. The suit vanishes to reveal a slight girl with jet black hair, cyan eyes, and an extremely pale face. ...Maybe that was more from the stress than anything else, though. As predicted, she is clothed in nothing more than a white nighty that would be unfortunately revealing were it not for the fact that Gentarou has already grabbed onto her and is likely too close to see much of anything.]

It's OK, it's OK! I can --

[Well whatever if he wanted to catch her she'd let him catch her she didn't have the energy to maintain the phase much longer anyway. Phantom Girl stays solid as the two of them crash to the ground in a heap; she bounces for a bit before coming to a halt with a groan.]

Ughh...

The next time I wake up with a weird belt on, remind me not to touch any switches.

[Gentarou lands with a much meatier whump as they tumble to the ground. He rolls onto his back a bit, letting out a sheepish laugh.]

And remind me I have to get better at flying without a rocket on my arm...!

[And to not wear jumpsuits a size too small... he thinks to himself. He tries to prop himself up a bit, giving a well-meaning grin.]

You're alright, though, right?

[And as he said he would, Shoutarou pulls up nearby on a motorcycle and pulls off his helmet. He halfway grins though once he sees the situation is resolved, and leans over on the handlebars with lightly folded arms.]

Guess you did have it in the bag. Not bad, rookie.

You did pretty well for your first time with the flight ring, actually. ...Trust me, it could have gone a lot worse.

[Seemingly none too worse for the wear, Phantom Girl exhales a sigh of relief before gathering herself up into a kneeling position and leaning back on her haunches.]

And I'm fine! I think. You were totally my knight in shining armor back there, thanks. ...Shining chest padding, anyway.

[The tension of the situation seems to be diffusing somewhat as she flashes Genatrou a grateful smile; this is quickly replaced, though, by a choked gasp as Shoutarou arrives on his bike.]

W-Wha -- Hey! No spectating! Give a girl a little privacy here!

[In the blink of an eye, she has vanished from sight, nighty and all; Gentarou's Fourze belt is tossed in his direction a few moments later.]

Could I get my costume back?

Gentarou is all-smiles, giving Shou a weak thumbs up, before noticing Phantom Girl vanishing and tossing the Fourze belt at him. He gives a look around, addressing Phantom Girl even though he can't see here.

"Definitely not my first time in the air, but it was different." He laughs a bit, before moving to pull off the jumpsuit. "I hope this thing isn't too stretched out..."

Like Phantom Girl, he was wearing his own sleepwear a simple muscle shirt with pajama pants - but is a little less modest about the whole affair. He scratches his head sheepishly as he takes the Fourze belt, leaving the jumpsuit and ring neatly piled for Phantom Girl to grab.

"Your power is pretty cool, you know?"

[Shou blinks, then pulls his hat from his hip and dons it a bit awkwardly so that it covers his eyes. He chuckles sheepishly at Phantom Girl's reaction.]

Sorry 'bout that - I showed up to help on the off chance that things went south.

...Hmph.

[This is Phantom Girl's only response to Shoutarou for now as she watches her costume removed and laid neatly on the ground. As may be expected, the moment Gentarou is done, the pile vanishes as well, and the sound of rustling is heard. ...This pauses a few seconds in.]

I know you guys can't see me, but. Turn around, anyway, OK? It's the principle of the thing.

[When they have done so, a great deal of rustling, zippering, and pulling can be heard before Phantom Girl clears her throat and speaks again.]

'K, I'm good.

I... think I'll go ahead and retire this one. If it's all the same to you.

[It is indeed a little bit stretched in some parts. Phantom Girl holds her nighty in one hand while tugging at the loose fabric with the other, a woeful expression on her face.]

Anyway, I think your 'rookie' did pretty well for himself, all things considering. I mean, not just any amateur superhero gets to bail me out of a jam.

That's what you guys are, too, right? I can't imagine using that thing for anything else.

Gen is very much a gentleman and turns and bows his head when asked. Though he does get out a good laugh when he turns and sees the stretched out jumpsuit on Phantom Girl.

"Sorry about that...!"

At the mention of what the gear is used for, a grin does split wide on Gentarou's face.

"Yep, that's right! We're Kamen Riders! Defenders of truth, warriors of justice!"

He pounds on his chest, before pointing, arm outstretched.

"The Super Space Rider! Kamen Rider Fourze- Kisaragi Gentarou!"

((Not totally sure if I should wait for a three person thread, but let me know if I should do that in the future!))

".....Wow."

This is less a 'wow' of appreciation and more the type of 'wow' that would accompany a raised eyebrow. Which Phantom Girl proceeds to do.

"I hope I don't sound that cheesy when I describe my team. So, uh... was that whole thing your name or do you have something you go by most of the time?"

While Gen might have been a gentleman, Phantom Girl was more of a snarky commentator type.

"Anyway, whatever it is - Nice to meet you, Super Space Rider. I'm Phantom Girl. Phantom Girl from the Legion of Superheroes."

[Guess Gentarou's pretty open about the whole secret identity thing - though to be fair, given the situation, there was no way in hell he could've kept it hidden from Phantom Girl.

Once Gentarou's finished, Shoutarou dismounts his bike and steps up.]

Far as I know, just 'Fourze' or 'Gentarou' works. I'm half of Kamen Rider Double, Hidari Shoutarou.

[He does seem rather interested by her introduction, however.]

A legion? Like you work with a group of heroes all the time?

...Why are you wearing Phantom Girl's outfit?

Is that who it is? I'll have to apologize to them for wearing it!

[He looks kind of out of sorts right now, but he looks a little bit embarassed OH GOD I'M WEARING A GIRL'S JUMPSUIT THIS IS NOT HOW I WANTED TO START TODAY.]

I just woke up with it! It seems like she has my belt, too!

[EVERYTHING IS GOING WRONG, HOW DO I STOP IT]

You know, something happened to me this morning too! I wonder if demons are pulling pranks again?

[He scratches his head. IT IS REALLY TIGHT ON HIM it's kind of terrifying.]

Demons? Pranking us? I just got here, so I'm not sure what you mean...

[NEW RECRUIT HEADS UP]

Oh, did you just get here recently? What a welcoming party...

[She laughs a little.]

I'll explain whatever you need to know, but first-- do you need help with Phantom Girl and your belt? It seems like she's getting pretty out of control.

Yeah, you're telling me!

[The sad part is this is only about as manic as a normal day of Amanogawa High...]

I-I think I might have it! My senior is coming to back me up, I think! But I know where she is!

Alright, be careful! And try not to break anything, the government wont be too incredibly happy about that.

[Wink!]

[He gives a goofy grin.]

[She laughs, flipping her hair out of her face and returning his grin. He reminded her of Sora, making friends with everyone everywhere he went; it was refreshing.]
