13th Screw [Video]

[When the feed clicks on, it reveals Nano standing in front of the Amagi Inn, wearing a yukata and with her hands folded in front of her.  There's a sad look in her eyes that she's doing her best to hide, but since she's always been pretty bad at that sort of thing, it's probably pretty evident that she'd been crying before making this broadcast.  She sniffles for a moment, rubs her eyes, and takes a deep breath to compose herself before beginning to speak.]

Hello, everyone.  My name is Nano Shinonome.

[She bows politely to the camera before continuing.]

For those of you who knew her, Yukiko Amagi-san has returned home.  [She gestures behind her.]  Her family's business, the Amagi Inn, is still here in the Scorpio District.  Yukiko-san left a note here that said if she were to leave Hinoto-Ri, she would like me and her friend Kanji Tatsumi-san to take care of it in her place.  I want to do my best for Yukiko-san, since she's one of the closest friends I've had since coming here myself, but most of the inn's staff except for the Pyro Jacks that heat the water are gone too, and with school starting again next month, I'm not sure I'll have enough time to do the thorough job this inn deserves.

[There is a small sigh as Nano closes her eyes, pausing to compose herself again.  She wants to come off professionally.]

So because of this, I'd like to interview some people for positions working at the inn.  I'm going to work here myself on some evenings and on the weekends, but since my own house is in the city too, I won't be able to be here all the time.  If anyone is interested in working at the inn, please contact me and we can talk about it more privately.

I think we'll need some people to work at the front desk greeting guests, people to clean the rooms, and a small staff to work in the kitchen preparing meals.  There are some rooms for the employees to stay in if anyone would like to move in for convenience's sake, and the hot spring out back is open too for when you're not working a shift.  I'd like to get some people quickly so the inn doesn't have to close while we wait to fill the positions, so if you're interested, please reply as soon as possible.

[Another deep breath, a smile, and one last polite bow.]

Oh, Nakamura-san! That's wonderful! I think all you would need to do at the front desk is greet the guests and keep a list of who's staying in what room. It shouldn't be very hard.

[She takes a deep breath, seemingly trying to compose herself.]

There's only three of us left in the castle, and before we were all sharing the costs. I was gonna try looking for a new full time job since working at a flower shop doesn't really bring in the money we need, so, I guess what I'm trying to say is I'd be happy to work for you if you'd take me.

Oh, Kairi-san...

[Wow, Kairi looks as sad as Nano feels right now. Her heart goes out to her pretty much immediately, even before she starts saying anything at all.]

Of course I'll hire you! And Namine too if she needs a job! And um... who's your third friend?

[She pauses.]

I don't know him very well. He was friends-- I guess friends is the right word-- with Aqua and Terra, and I think he was close with the older Xion. He's, uh...

[Kind of the antagonist of the entire Kingdom Heart series and just doesn't know it yet???]

[Nano can sense that there's some confusion or maybe discomfort going on here, but she has no idea what's causing it, so she just blinks and nods.]

Umm... he's what?

[Oh dear. It sounds like Nano could really use some help.

Xion could help her no problem with this kind of thing, but she's never.. actually had a job. She also doesn't want to really work in the public eye.

On the other hand, she has absolutely zero funds for anything at the moment. She wrings her hands as she tries to decide what to do before she replies.]

[Nano's all too happy to hire Xion, but she does remember what Kairi told her before about the two of them getting off to a bad start. But maybe working together at the inn would be a good chance for them to get to know each other and make friends. She thinks it over for a moment before nodding back at Xion.]

Do you know how to clean rooms? No one's volunteered for that yet. All you'd need to do is change the towels, make sure the futons are rolled up and put away properly, sweep and dust between guests...

[She's.. never heard of some of those. The Dusks back in the castle usually took care of house chores, so she's sort of at a loss.]

Maybe if you try, you'll remember how to do it from when you had my memories, like I remembered how to use a keyblade!

[Cleaning was one of Nano's mundane skills that Xion could keep basic knowledge of, after all. It's possible she might pick it back up again.]

[Kairi has already told Nano their situation, so Naminé doesn't feel a need to elaborate, only giving her a small, half-there smile.]

Like Kairi said, I'd love to help. I'm fine with cooking.

[Nano gives a big bright smile in return, nodding happily.]

I'd be happy to have you both.

[She's still sad that Yukiko is gone, and sad for their loss as well, but it's nice that the friends who were left behind are all sticking together.]

Thank you, Nano. I have to commend you for taking responsibility for the inn. I can't imagine that it will be easy.

I couldn't just let it sit and fall into disuse. Yukiko-san worked so hard every day to make it succeed. I feel like I should do my best too.

[She's never had a job before because lol spoiled rich kid, but Hoshi is aware that she needs something to do with her spare time before she goes insane.
