[Video: start. Unimpressed teenager with slicked-back hair and a cranky expression: appear.]
Okay, so either the Professor is pulling a huge fuck you on me for leaving, everyone in this town is sharing some kind of mass delusion, or I actually got kidnapped to a Japanese city in another world to fight monsters.
Someone remind me why I'm believing the third one?
[He rubs at his eyes, then looks a bit more cheerful as he keeps speaking.]
Free room and board just for beating shit up, though. The place I came from could learn from this Philemon guy. All I wanna know is if there's any other mutants around - that's Homo Superior, the evolution beyond humans, not whatever you might call mutants in some other world. As good as this all sounds, I'm not sticking around if demons are my only alternative to humans.
[And he's done.]
((ooc: rather pertinent rewrite after he got the details about the place and actually kind of liked them. facepalm.))

[He hesitates before pressing on.]
Ehh... what do you mean by "mutant?" There's nobody here calling themselves an, ahh... "Homo Superior". That's not a real term.
video;
[He could mistake the tone for light, but there's deadly venom behind it.]
Different worlds mean different rules, genius. "Demons" aren't real where I'm from either, but I didn't tell people they were wrong when they talked about them.
video;
[Okay, no. Losing patience will get them nowhere, so he sucks in a breath and backs off.]
... I highly doubt there's a scientific term like that. An..yway, I've seen robots, clones, demons, vampires, supernatural humans, and dead people... So, what is a mutant to you? B-because to me, it's a biology lesson.
video;
[Yeah, they're on the wrong side of the war, but they're the best examples he can think of right now.]
Besides, I already told you. Humanity evolved beyond Homo Sapiens. We're what came next.

"And what's wrong with demons?"
There's a slight pause before she continues in a snide, superior tone.
"Mr. Human?"
Video
I didn't picture you being able to talk. Y'know, when I was told we were basically killing you for sport.
[And then his brows draw down.]
I'm not saying this again. I'm a mutant.
Video
"Just because Desco is a demon doesn't mean she's not a Visitor too, dummy. And drawing a distinction between a mutant and a normal human doesn't make sense!"
Her tone suddenly becomes lecturing.
"Despite their genetic changes, a mutant is still classified as a member of their base species! If you actually think that one random genetic quirk is enough to make you stop being an insignificant human than you are even dumber than you look!"
Another one of those brief pauses.
"And let Desco note that you look plenty dumb already."

It might be different in his world, Desco. You don't know that.
And Pyro - demon means different things. I should have specified. A lot of them can talk, yeah. It's the aggressive ones we have a problem with.
... Aside from Desco. She's a visitor like us. And you're not to mess with her, or you'll get several very painful lessons.

"Don't worry. We demons don't want you either."

[That's almost an apology, which is actually quite an honour, though she may not know it.]

[He shrugs.]
Anyway. I've got no problem with demons, considering I have no experience with them.

That being said, she was locking this post to make sure her comrade didn't similarly try to intervene for what she says next...]
I apologize on the behalf of my fellow hunter's behavior. He and I are very passionate about the protection of innocent lives, yet I'm afraid his anger was misdirected in this case. I at least would like to give you the benefit of the doubt.

[Snarly, yes, but he backs down to apprehensive after that initial outburst.]
It's too much to forget, never mind forgive. I'll never really trust a human. But - if mutants really backed down, something must've changed.

[She pauses, though, trying to imagine his situation in her own perspective....]
... I'll admit, however, that if I were to come to a world where my enemies were supposedly now innocent creatures, the adjustment would be... difficult.

[But that's all he has to say about it for now. She's listening, taking his concerns seriously, which is more than he can say for most people he meets.]
I cut a deal, though. That's not something I ever thought I'd do with a human, especially not one like that. I get it.
