Probably the people in it, I think. We can't exactly protect everything in the city.

Of course, I am not suggesting protecting those who are so fond of the tactics of terrorists, but I am trying to look at this from the view of whatever kind of being brought us here.

A broad, but ultimately adequate answer. [She's quiet for a moment, thinking.] Do you think there is any threat considered more pressing than the others? For instance, the Anoli versus whatever resides within that temple area?

I don't know. [ He sounds amused after this. ] That used to be my job, though. Knowing what the bigger threats were. Now I'm just as clueless as everyone else.

Do the members of the Anoli count under your definition of "the people"?

To be honest... I can't say I'm completely sure, but I agree with what's been said before. We need to protect this city and those in it, but I'm more concerned about those in it. And with how the media is filtering what happened...

[She's worried they might not be getting the full picture.]

Mm. There does seem to be a certain tone the government and the media are keen on keeping up. Though... there is no telling how long they have been filtering their messages, nor to what extent. Attempting to confront or reveal them in the wake of everything that has happened might not be effective.

But it is not my own definition I am questioning, rather that of the man in the butterfly mask - the one we see before finding ourselves here. I know what it means to me.

[Not with all that the Anoli leader had accused them and the government of, with how his speech had gotten censored. Things are far, far less black and white than they had been presented to them; that's the only thing Riku is certain off now.]

[They know nothing about the politics or citizenry, let alone the powers they have come to possess...]

A noble ideal... But I cannot help but wonder if such godlike beings hold the same kind of values.
