[Video: start. Unimpressed teenager with slicked-back hair and a cranky expression: appear.]
Okay, so either the Professor is pulling a huge fuck you on me for leaving, everyone in this town is sharing some kind of mass delusion, or I actually got kidnapped to a Japanese city in another world to fight monsters.
Someone remind me why I'm believing the third one?
[He rubs at his eyes, then looks a bit more cheerful as he keeps speaking.]
Free room and board just for beating shit up, though. The place I came from could learn from this Philemon guy. All I wanna know is if there's any other mutants around - that's Homo Superior, the evolution beyond humans, not whatever you might call mutants in some other world. As good as this all sounds, I'm not sticking around if demons are my only alternative to humans.
[And he's done.]
((ooc: rather pertinent rewrite after he got the details about the place and actually kind of liked them. facepalm.))

But like I said. Just like home.

I don't care, if you reject your blood and heritage, and turn against your progenitors, you are the lowest sort of scum.

[An interrupting member in this conversation comes onto a video feed, voice feminine but face obscured by a helmet, not unlike Garviel himself.]
I'm afraid you're asking too much of this new arrival. It sounds to me as though he has not lost his humanity, but in his world, humanity itself has lost all semblance of decency.
I understand your bias, but don't let it blind you, warrior. You'll turn a potential ally against us.

Re: video;
[ He addresses pyro. ]
And yet you'd attempt the same here, when offered the chance of a new start? I still consider you a potential human, though in danger because of your genetic deviations.
I'm transhuman as well, and more visibly modified than you, but I still remain loyal. I don't expect you to shake hands, but if you bring the war here, I doubt anyone would blame me for stopping you. Are we clear now?

[She also turns her attention to Pyro.]
I'm sorry for what happened to you. I can understand your hatred for the human race after such an ordeal, but I assure you that this world is not the same. Cerberus, I'm sure you can relate.
Preconceptions from your previous world must be let go here...

But at the same time, he can see her point. He doesn't have to like humans, or to seek them out; he just can't bring any kind of violent conflict where it doesn't fit. He'll still come after anyone who threatens or insults him, but the focus has shifted.]
The only war I know about here's against demons. [He sounds defensive, but not combative.] I didn't come to start any new ones.

[ Rumbles cerberus, apparently mollified. ]
You don't have any notable physical alterations, what is the nature of your mutation?

[Okay, he's bragging when it comes to his control, but that usually keeps him from having to admit that he needs a source for his mutation to work.]

[Still bristling quite blatantly. But he said tactical, and Pyro's never gone beyond 'throw fire at shit' before, so maybe it's not a completely useless offer.]
Yeah, maybe.

[He's still smarting from being called "scum" - it wasn't "freak", but it still had the flavour of home. Of the Government, and the police, and his parents.]
