[text] attention everyone shut the hell up
I assume you have all educated yourselves on what Philemon's intentions and goals are for this city in his latest charade, or you would not be wasting your time humoring that ludicrous and insipid excuse for literature.
Now, what about Nyarlathotep? Have any of you figured out anything about his plans for this city, or are you more concerned with petty child's play?

I thought Philemon sent the ones that went to that tower - I thought maybe we were sent to help. If nothing else, to at least spread some light to the place. Some hope. I honestly wanted to bring the people trapped there here, if I could.
...we couldn't. Whether that was Nyarlathotep's fault, whether it was all a wild goose chase from the start, whether it was the fault of the tower's administrators, or whether it was some combination of those, I can't say. I don't even know if we did anything at all.
But I can't...I can't let myself think like that. I just can't. I have to think that some kind of message at least got through...

Nyarlathotep strives to spread despair and decay to all of humanity.
It's likely that the entire thing was completely orchestrated by him, to lead you and Philemon on.
However, though Philemon wishes to represent what is good, his grasp on what that is is tenuous at best.

If it's any consolation, give the scope of their conflict I'm sure you were able to reach out to someone.
The presence of either of them is irrelevant to that.

That still leaves figuring out what that means for this place. I think that means making sure that we stay true to our own hearts. And especially listening hard to ourselves and figuring out what our own idea of 'good' is, so it doesn't get twisted up in whatever Philemon thinks might be right but isn't.

But in the end, I'm sure it wasn't all bad.
That's what I can't quite figure out. Surely he has some plan to destroy the city, so then why make everyone leave?
As far as I can see, he was just trying to sow discord.
In addition, Philemon may wish to be 'good,' but he's not more human than Nyarlathotep.
So I think you're right, that everyone needs to develop their own idea of what's right, and be able to carry through with that even if our gracious patron believes the opposite.

Are you... trying to dance?
