[This...is going to be a problem.]

[He was curious, really, to hang around until the 13th hour came along, and had been quite shocked by the enormous amount of monsters hanging around. So shocked that he was quite unprepared for when they started attacking- he thought he'd find a way to avoid them, honestly. And just when he was cornered...it had finally come out. His Persona.]

[And honestly, he wasn't too surprised. Not even scared, really, he's seen worse. His Persona is himself, isn't it? But this would pose a problem if he showed it to other people, because that would be going and showing them something very deep and personal that might turn them against him. No, he has to turn this into an advantage, a way to get people to pity him and go on his side.]

[And he knows exactly how to get that to happen.]

[The video turns on, and the first thing one hears is the rather terrified and stammering voice of one (1) Sam Erstwhile.]

This-this is really not okay! I mean, it's my birthday today, I really didn't need this as a birthday present!

[The guy seems to be on the verge of fainting, he's so pale. It's oddly dark behind him, even though it's morning...]

I-I...listen, is it possible to just refund a Persona? That's possible, right? Because...mine is a freakin' abomination, and I'm not really sure I want it. How come all of you get the cool ones and I get the one that looks like it feeds on little kid's nightmares??

[And then the darkness behind him moves, and what looks to be like a dark tentacle rests on Sam's shoulder. Sam shudders, letting out a slight whimper, as the skull-like face of his Persona drops down into view.]

[Looks like Sam wasn't kidding about that abomination stuff at all.]

They said having a Persona was a good thing. They said you'd love it, and that it'd help you, and...ugh, this isn't what I was expecting at all!

[And he buries his face in his trembling hands. He really looks like he's going to have a nervous breakdown over this.]

But it's a part of you, ain't it? Change enough, maybe it will. It happened back home. Same's probably true here.

Oh, well, that does make sense. Huh, wonder how exactly I have to change to get it to change...

We came with the same ones we had, if that's what you mean.

[ooc: This is what I get for tagging at 2am! He was basically asking if they had personas back home too. >>]

[He's slipping over his words, and he takes a minute to get his thoughts back together.]

Because where I come from, we don't have personas! So, it's really interesting to meet people who had them where they came from.

[He waits, his expression solid and unchanging.

So that's what he meant.]

A few of us had 'em. Not that many, not like here.

That's okay! I can see you've been, uh, kinda distracted.

*She rolls her eyes at that creepy thing behind him*

I don't know why you're calling for me, but I can tell you it definitely is.

You should be more accepting! Even the most monstrous creatures have their place in nature. ...I mean, except the actual monsters; those should just be stamped out.

No kidding. I thought I was getting away from that kind of stuff here.

I mean, I guess I should have seen it coming, what with my track record, but seriously.

Well, you say that as if it's terribly difficult.

The kind I find most effective generally have a moderately easy-to-use point and click interface. Point the gun, click the trigger, and repeat until your issue is resolved.

However, there is some degree of skill required - and I'm sure there's enough overly-helpful types around that can help you with that.

[A sniff, like he's verging on whether he should let himself cry over this or not.]

Point and click, huh? I mean, I don't think I have an issue with learning how to use it! It's just...I get nervous just thinking about using it against someone else.

[The thing, his persona, decides it's had enough of this conversation and moves it's face off camera, clearly feeling it's not wanted. It's still draping a few tentacles on Sam's shoulders, though, as if hating the fact of leaving him.]

Um...not really? Do you know any places?

*Selphie watches his Persona and almost feels a little sorry for it. But she smiles at Sam, despite shaking her head*

Nah, I'm only new here. But I did see a cute cafe in town that might be nice...

There's not really an explanation for it. We just discovered we had 'em, and learned how to bring them out. Not much else.

Do you... know what it is?

A monster is an enemy to all of life! It seeks only to destroy, never to create or to give back. So kinda like humans except less annoying because they don't usually talk.

A monstrous creature is just something humans don't think are 'cute' because it's not fluffy or colorful enough so it's not worth putting on their endangered species list.

It's a monster. Other than that, I don't really know...

Oh, so you consider humans like monsters? How wonderful...

Well, honestly, I don't like either of them, because they both scream "danger" in some fashion. I mean, not that I judge by appearance or anything, but I'd rather have a persona that looks marginally able to interact with rather than something that looks like it wants to eat my soul, just saying.

Huh.

Did you all have the 13th hour where you came from, too? With the demons and all?

Oh, you're new too! Oh, that's...that's good, everyone who've I met already knows this place, and I've been really feeling left out...

[An attempt at a smile.] That doesn't sound bad. A cafe, huh? I wouldn't mind checking that out...
