[This...is going to be a problem.]

[He was curious, really, to hang around until the 13th hour came along, and had been quite shocked by the enormous amount of monsters hanging around. So shocked that he was quite unprepared for when they started attacking- he thought he'd find a way to avoid them, honestly. And just when he was cornered...it had finally come out. His Persona.]

[And honestly, he wasn't too surprised. Not even scared, really, he's seen worse. His Persona is himself, isn't it? But this would pose a problem if he showed it to other people, because that would be going and showing them something very deep and personal that might turn them against him. No, he has to turn this into an advantage, a way to get people to pity him and go on his side.]

[And he knows exactly how to get that to happen.]

[The video turns on, and the first thing one hears is the rather terrified and stammering voice of one (1) Sam Erstwhile.]

This-this is really not okay! I mean, it's my birthday today, I really didn't need this as a birthday present!

[The guy seems to be on the verge of fainting, he's so pale. It's oddly dark behind him, even though it's morning...]

I-I...listen, is it possible to just refund a Persona? That's possible, right? Because...mine is a freakin' abomination, and I'm not really sure I want it. How come all of you get the cool ones and I get the one that looks like it feeds on little kid's nightmares??

[And then the darkness behind him moves, and what looks to be like a dark tentacle rests on Sam's shoulder. Sam shudders, letting out a slight whimper, as the skull-like face of his Persona drops down into view.]

[Looks like Sam wasn't kidding about that abomination stuff at all.]

They said having a Persona was a good thing. They said you'd love it, and that it'd help you, and...ugh, this isn't what I was expecting at all!

[And he buries his face in his trembling hands. He really looks like he's going to have a nervous breakdown over this.]

A monster is an enemy to all of life! It seeks only to destroy, never to create or to give back. So kinda like humans except less annoying because they don't usually talk.

A monstrous creature is just something humans don't think are 'cute' because it's not fluffy or colorful enough so it's not worth putting on their endangered species list.

Oh, so you consider humans like monsters? How wonderful...

Well, honestly, I don't like either of them, because they both scream "danger" in some fashion. I mean, not that I judge by appearance or anything, but I'd rather have a persona that looks marginally able to interact with rather than something that looks like it wants to eat my soul, just saying.

If I'm hearing things right, that thing is your soul. Not much danger of self-cannibalism, really; you're probably safe there.

It's probably just misunderstood! Like you. You should give it a hug and see what happens.

Really? I though it was more of a "part of my mind thing", but okay.

[And he scoffs.]

And are you mental!? I would never give it a hug, it's too scary...

And that's why it looks so angry and unhappy. Because no one gives it hugs. It's really your own fault it's like this.

Ugh, stop it, it's a thing, I highly doubt it cares for something as nice as a hug.

I'd like to point out that mine is a dryad, so. If we're talking about soul representations here, you can't get much more accurate than that.

[And a silence.] I-I don't know. I'm not a monster, I swear, I'm not! I never asked for a Persona like this! I want something nicer...

[Viridi snickers to herself for a few more moments before backing up. That was probably enough prodding for the moment.]

It opens for a few days at a time every month. You had your chance back on the 16th; it'll be a while before it comes around again.

Well, if it's inside my mind, I think it's kind of required for me to use it, no matter how much I do or don't want to.

Um, not really. I mean, I'd like to go back and all, mostly because I have something to do that I never got to finish...but it's not like I really have a home where I come from.
