01 - [Video]

[primordial]

[There's a scrambling sound and a few mutterings of "you turn on the video over here, don't you?" before the video finally turns out, showing the somewhat morose face of one (1) Sam Erstwhile, disheveled brown hair almost covering his eyes. He glances away with a slight frown.]

Um, right, what was I going to say here...

[And then a nod as he looks back up.]

Right! Right. Erm, yeah. Hello to all of you, I guess. I'm Sam and...I just arrived a few days ago, so I'm sorry if I'm still new to all of this.

[He tries his best at a smile, but it's kind of a pathetic try, at best- his mouth just quirks upward for one second before dropping down to it's usual position.]

I...I just am a little confused, honestly. I mean, people have told me about the Persona thing and the fact that we have to fight monsters and all, but, I mean, why were we chosen in the first place? I know plenty of other people who would be way better at this than me. And it's not like I applied or anything, so...what's so special about me?

[He sighs, scratching the back of his head.] Somebody I talked to before talked about how they choose us based on our souls, but...I just want to hear what other people think. I'm not really interested in why we were chosen, more like how we were chosen, if that makes sense. What sets us apart from all the other people from where we come from?

Because, I dunno...I think they made a really huge mistake when they chose me.

Huh. That's...not a bad mental image, actually.

[And he actually looks surprised.]

An archangel?! Whoah! Um, wow.

[And a pause.]

You don't look like an archangel. Where are your wings?

[He smirks and shakes his head. Of course.]

It's always about the wings.

[A shrug.]

You can't see em. And, even if I wanted to, I couldn't fluff my feathers over this thing. You'll just have to take my word for it.

If you wanna see wings go bother Pit, kid can't get rid of them.

[Azi was the lucky one of the three. Best of both worlds, maybe.]

Well, that's disappointing. The pictures they have in books always have you all with halos and wings...

And what, is Pit an angel too?

Yeah, they say a lot of things in books that aren't necessarily true.

There's a few angels wandering around here. Pit's just the most obvious one.

[primordial]

Yeah, see, that's what I'm so confused about. You have gods, you have angels, you have people who can sing and create new lands through some sort of magic...and then there's me. Boring ol', normal me. It's like they totally missed the person they were aiming for.

[He scratches the back of his head.] So...are you all agents of good, or am I to believe that's wrong, too?

[ontheirside]

Hey, maybe they need normal. Besides, no matter how normal you are now, you've still got a lovely little spirit hanging around you that's willing to put up a fight.

Aaand. I guess it depends on what you define as 'good.' Well, not for the other two. Pit's pretty good and the other one...good pretty much shines out of his ass.

[primordial]

Yeah, a spirit they gave me. I still don't even know what it can do. Maybe it might be strong to make up for all the powers I don't have...

I'm guessing you're not exactly a "peace reigns on Earth" kind of guy if you view your fellow angels that way, huh?

[ontheirside]

Well, that's why you've got to take it for a spin. You can talk to it, you know.

And don't get me wrong, I like them, we're just made a little differently. Besides, if peace reigned on Earth, it wouldn't be so interesting.

You say that as if I can just go and activate it like a program on a computer...as far as I've heard, you have to go and get yourself in real danger or something for it to even do anything.

Well...I guess that's true. More peace would still be nice, though.

[ontheirside]

It'd be nice, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

And, yeah, guess that's how that works. [He sooo didn't want to talk about what activated his.] Maybe you should go find someone willing to put you in danger.

If not, sit around a bit; bound to be something sometime, I'm sure.

[primordial]

Someone willing...listen to yourself! I don't want to be put in danger under any circumstances, and here it's a mandatory thing. Ugh...

Is it even worth it? What if that thing is worthless as I am...?

[ontheirside]

Danger's around every corner, kid. I recommend not staying out after dark if you're really that against it.

As for your Persona....it might be. I don't really know what decides what it is, except 'something that means something to you' no idea other than that.

[primordial]

Ugh, fine. I guess you're right.

Something that means something to me? If...if you don't mind me asking, I'm curious, what is yours?

She's a little different and she can't always take a joke, but it's basically the same.

You must be pretty powerful against those demons, then.

Mmmm....maybe. Wouldn't know, I don't go out during the 13th hour very often.

The 13th hour...that's when all the monsters and such pop out, don't they?

Sure is. I wouldn't get caught out there without some sort of weapon or a friend to hide behind if I were you.
