[More information? One new arrival, at least, has all the information she needs. The influx of energy from this one is massive, completely unsubtle, almost as if purposefully designed to attract the attention of anyone with any sense whatsoever of the divine. It doesn’t fade away nor does it seem to be easily localized. This surely wasn’t ‘Magatama Energy’…
Whatever ambiguity this might present is cleared up almost immediately. Despite that no one may be in the vicinity, the voice of a young girl sounds clearly throughout the city of Hinoto-Ri to nearly every inhabitant, as intelligibly as if the speaker were standing right next to those she addressed. …Perhaps too intelligibly. The first sound they hear is an vehement, despairing cry.]
NO!
This can’t be…! The forests… The oceans… The deserts and mountains, the tundra and the plains! W-Where are they?! Who did this?! What did you do to them?!
[For a few moments, the speaker seems too overwhelmed with ire to speak. The sound of her breathing eventually slows...]
Humans. Look at this world. Look at it!
I knew this would happen. In every world across every dimension, it doesn’t matter! You -- you’re all the same! See for yourself! This is what will happen if you tear through all of nature without respect for anything but your own wealth and gain! Are you happy?! My children… 100 million species. One hundred million. There's almost nothing left...
I am Viridi, Goddess of Nature, ruler of the Earth and all living things! And I will not allow this land to be desecrated any further.
They say there are monsters ravaging what remains. If you stand against them, then... heed the command of a goddess and CRUSH them!

[A sigh.]
So, why talk with them if you've given up hope for them, though?

...
...
[Good question.]
D-Don't question the actions of a god! We work in mysterious ways. Superior, unintelligible-to-man, better ways.

Oh, so now you're growing a spine. I see how it is. I'm not using those dinky little pieces of plastic; you can mute those things.
no subject
Oh, no! No, no, no! I'm...I'm just stating what I think, it's not meant as an insult or anything! I'm sorry!
[SO TOTALLY FLUSTERED OVER HERE]
So...it's just more convenient for you, is that it?

And the stupid glasses clash with my look.
no subject
Your, erm, look? They don't suit you?

'You're gonna have to live forever with your look so don't chance anything that'll mess it up. Just ask Medusa.'
That's definitely in the Book of Divine Prophecy and not at all made up on the spot, if you were wondering.
no subject
[Totally, Viridi. TOTALLY.]
Yeah, but wasn't Medusa cursed because she was too beautiful? If the story is correct...but huh, deitic rules? What, is that like "How to Be a God For Dummies"?

Same awful hair, though, no doubt.
no subject
Except for the snake hair, of course. Huh, what a coincidence...to have two such similar beings in two different worlds, I mean.
no subject
I'd explain why, but I'd rather not break your mind right now. We'll leave it for some sort of non-canonical conversation.
The better explanation is that if we take the infinite universe hypothesis to be true, all sorts of worlds should have weird overlaps.
no subject
[Luckily Sam is not the type of person to dwell too deeply on such matters, and he just gives a shrug, even though Viridi can't see.]
Well, that would make sense, then. Infinite universes and all...I wonder if there's another me somewhere, if that's the case?

Ugh, I'm just not the best at these things. I'm sorry.
no subject
This is everything I've ever wanted from my relationship with humans, but it's somehow just as unsatisfying.

[And he falls silent because he's apologizing for apologizing, yes he is. BEST LIFE CHOICES.]
