001

[More information? One new arrival, at least, has all the information she needs. The influx of energy from this one is massive, completely unsubtle, almost as if purposefully designed to attract the attention of anyone with any sense whatsoever of the divine. It doesn’t fade away nor does it seem to be easily localized. This surely wasn’t ‘Magatama Energy’…

Whatever ambiguity this might present is cleared up almost immediately. Despite that no one may be in the vicinity, the voice of a young girl sounds clearly throughout the city of Hinoto-Ri to nearly every inhabitant, as intelligibly as if the speaker were standing right next to those she addressed. …Perhaps too intelligibly. The first sound they hear is an vehement, despairing cry.]

NO!

This can’t be…! The forests… The oceans… The deserts and mountains, the tundra and the plains! W-Where are they?! Who did this?! What did you do to them?!

[For a few moments, the speaker seems too overwhelmed with ire to speak.  The sound of her breathing eventually slows...]

Humans. Look at this world. Look at it!

I knew this would happen.  In every world across every dimension, it doesn’t matter! You -- you’re all the same! See for yourself! This is what will happen if you tear through all of nature without respect for anything but your own wealth and gain! Are you happy?! My children… 100 million species. One hundred million. There's almost nothing left...

I am Viridi, Goddess of Nature, ruler of the Earth and all living things! And I will not allow this land to be desecrated any further.

They say there are monsters ravaging what remains. If you stand against them, then... heed the command of a goddess and CRUSH them!

a goddess is here. how shocking. there was no goddess in the other.

but oh dear. no. do not be angry at them. human passion and human desire should burn brightly until the world is devoured. they are most beautiful when most bright.

humans are wilful anyway. theyre hard to crush. resilient. like cockroaches. in a good way of course.

their stubbornness and self preservation is the most beautiful of things so no do not be angry at them for devouring this world you are a goddess yes you should see that they cannot help it it is part of their nature
echo_of_a_jedi: (way too much moral ambiguity here)

[Okay, ow. This was suddenly very loud on both Meetra's hearind and her other senses. She counted herself lucky she had been eating lunch and not meditating.]

Er...

[Still how do you even respond to a demand this sudden from someone claiming to be a goddess? Agree? Bow? Those and "stall until context is established" seem to be her only feasible options.]

Can you really blame people, though? They didn't start the process, it was their ancestors and everyone who came before them who fucked nature up to whatever degree you're talking about.

Anyway; I guess I can answer a few questions as a spokesman for the human race; but don't expect me to have all the answers.

Where is nature? Who knows; wasn't there some kind of disaster here?

Who did this? The fuck should I know? Ask someone else.

Are we happy? I'd say so; usually destroying nature provides fuel and other bonuses to make life easier; it's a pretty sweet deal.

you feel strange in my head and i do not like talking to strange things in my head.

but if you wish to talk normally
I shall indulge you.

We have a difference in opinion it seems. Humans are the pinnacle of brilliance and should not be forced into servitude towards a host that would die eventually.

I am biased though. I love humans and the destruction they wrought. Although, I love the creation they are capable of as well. Why hinder their talents by making them tend to the earth?

There weren't that many species over the world I presided. The world was half-dead. The only thing to care about is humans, and so that is all I shall care over.

Ahah! Incorrect! Humans have multiple talents - they can bend and break so many laws of the universe, because they are greedy, but also curious. I want to see where that will bring them, be it their ascension, or their destruction. Either way, the end result would be breathtaking to witness.

echo_of_a_jedi: (WHY IS THIS GAME SO SAD??)

It was kind of abrupt.

Then why are you so angry over the state of this one? This isn't your world, and so, this world is not your responsibility. If those here cause their own mass-extinction, it will be brought about by their own choices, and you should probably not meddle in it.

Besides, this world seems to have its own God. I feel that it would be rude to step on his toes, so to speak.

They run on magic, okay? They won't give you cancer! But your telepathy will give me a headache!

To humans, their ideals may as well be their God. They fight and die for them, they dictate their lives around them, and let it command their every decision. Perhaps he is not a God of the traditional sense, but he is still an influential entity. I am merely being polite.

[Suddenly, Anant's mood shifts from neutral to jubilant]

I am enjoying this conversation! It is not often I get to debate with one that is not a human. Humanity's thoughts function on different planes than a Goddess's, although I am finding your passion somewhat human-like. It is bizarre. You are angry and upset, defiant and confrontational... how did you manage to possess such range in emotion? I wish to know, because they escape me.

I want to know.

You've got a point, I guess. Apart from the fact that they could just, I dunno, pull in some corn like they pulled in all of us.

And, hey, if nature is so great then why didn't it defend itself a little better? Not doing anything to stop itself being torn apart was like screaming "please use me as fuel, please use me to build houses", right?

[but if we ruin the world we just go live on towers in the sky, right????]

Um- I get that you're angry, but I don't think killing demons will help it any... Or yelling...
