It's related. The path that humans have chosen in my world will lead them right to an end like this one! Even if the humans here didn't directly cause the 'issues', you can't tell me you don't think they had nothing whatsoever to do with it.

This should be a warning to every human on every world. And I bet they're all just treating it like a vacation!

I'm all for laying blame where it's deserved, as long as there's facts to back it up. So save the finger-pointing for after we've figured out just what happened to this world. Premature blame just leads to far more trouble than it's worth.

If the humans here were totally innocent and just happened to be beset my aliens from another dimension or something, I'll eat my staff. But fine. Whatever.

Either way, they should still take it to heart! The path they travel now will lead to the same end.

Eh, it can either be repaired, or replaced with something better. I've seen worlds wind up worse and bounce back from it.

That's not the point! It shouldn't even be like this in the first place! If you're always rebuilding from devastation, you never achieve the true potential you should be attaining!

Look, sometimes in the course of life, devastation on various scales happens. Worrying about preventing it is all well and good, but sometimes, there will be a need to rebuild. Otherwise structural engineers won't have anything to do.

Why would you want to fix a problem if you can make it so that the problem never happens in the first place?

You're just being obstinate for the sake of being obstinate. You should reevaluate your life choices.

Given that before I arrived here, a four million year war had just come to a close - so I'm just a touch more inclined to reactionary thought rather than preventative. Old habits are hard to break and all that.

Yeah, well, I don't buy much into sentient heaps of metal, so it looks like we've both got some adjusting to do.

Seriously, it's not like iron can evolve. It's just. Iron.

Metal itself, be it iron or steel or...whatever, no. It does not evolve. However, us 'sentient heaps of metal' are quite capable of evolving and changing - just not like organics do. Upgrading one's self is rather handy that way.

So what, you swap out parts of your brain with shinier, smoother, more compact metals or something? I feel like Cragalanche could take a leaf out of your book.
