This is Lt. Commander Hoshino Ruri of the United Earth Space Fleet and captain of the battleship Nadesico. I know some things have happened lately and regret being unable to give proper support for them, but I'm learning the limits of what one person can do. Given technological differences is there anyone who was brought that has expertise in engineering, automation or advanced AI concepts? I've been working on a project that I suspect is several dozen if not over a hundred man hours and doing it alone has not proven to lead to being able to act quickly.

Also, if anyone knows where 06-09 in the Libra sector is, I would appreciate a tour. I haven't yet had enough time to screen all the map data for Omoikane so would probably get lost and once I finish up here I probably should see what sort of accommodations they have set aside for us here. Odds are that if I can't find a lake or something to put down in shuttling up and down may necessitate my staying there.

Then that means we need to find evidence. I can start looking immediately.

That's one of the reasons I want to get the Automation working. That way I can use the data analysis gear on the ship.

I've got something to analyze data with me. It's meant for combat data, but it can definitely record any kind of info.

Omoikane's specialization is system intrusion and data recovery. I'm hoping once the systems are up I can link into well.... This place and start analyzing things directly.

Is there a way to do that? The network connections I've seen have been really old-fashioned.

As long as there is some wireless band we can adapt.

The first Nadesico... Yurika's Nadesico was the ship that won the war with Jupiter. Mine, it was designed to keep the peace, so many of the big weapons systems were replaced with information gathering ones.

That makes sense. And because that's what it's good at, you want to put it to use here, where we know next to nothing. That makes perfect sense.

Well that and the targets are too small to warrant the use of ship to ship missiles or the gravity cannon, but yes. I think right now this needs to be an information driven thing and not a violence driven one.

Most any here. I haven't seen a single other battleship and only 3 or 4 robots. It would be amoral to use tools designed for those in a situation where they were not needed. Yet we were brought here for a reason and...

I don't have much faith in humanity really when it comes to things like that. Somehow I get the feeling we were brought for some form of fight.

[That's all he has to say about that. He feels a little sheepish now. With all of the strange occurrences here, he had thought for a moment that there was some sort of indigenous enemy.]

I think so. I came here with a gun and my mobile suit. I don't think they would have brought those things along with me if it was for anything but battle.

[He doesn't look too excited, though.]

There is also a full compliment of missiles on the Nadesico, and all of the reactors are fully loaded. So I conclude that there will be a target at some point.

Where is the ship, anyway? I didn't see it while flying over town.

I'm still in dock in the cancer district.

The Cancer District? I didn't realize they had enough room to store an entire ship. It looked like an electronics district to me...though kind of a weird one.

It is, and I think this is for when they bring something extra large over. I'll be moving soon as I'm not comfortable here.

I ended up leaving my mobile suit in a field in the Capricorn District. I don't think there's enough room to moor a battleship there, though. Should I look out for a better place?

I'm in discussion to find a lake or something. Water is easier than ground on the ship.

A lake? Sure. I didn't see any in the city, but if we go outside the city and find one, I'll let you know.
