First order of business, though- he figured out how to use this eventually, with experience involving the Gauntlet. Besides the odd vision and subsequent deportment...]

Good day. [He's talking to humans, hopefully.] I have a favor to ask. If anyone sees or has heard any word from two persons named Flynn and Walter, could you tell me? Even better if you can inform me of their whereabouts.

I would greatly appreciate if someone could tell me what this place is about, as well, but I understand if that's too much trouble. [Pause.] Is this part of the demon world?

There was a time Tokyo didn't have demons either, though... [He supposes he should've expected something like that, being sucked through the portal to the demon world and perhaps being dumped off at any random location with people who've gone through similar.

...Though. Is this really just 'any random location'?] What was your Tokyo like? Before and after demons.

Weeell. It was a really big city, kind of crowded and it didn't have any magic but the technology level was about as high as here.

During the lockdown, things kind of... went to pieces, and it was impossible to enforce law and order anymore. A lot of people were killed, by demons or by each other.

...I see. It's not too different from the Tokyo in my world, then. Unfortunately.

[Hinoto-Ri...] How long have you been here, Midori?

Eleven months. I kind of wonder when I'll ever go back home, at this rate.

Eleven months... I see. [Pause.] Has anyone ever gone home? ...Do you want to go home?

People go home all the time, but nobody really knows how or why. I don't know when I want to go home - I mean, I love my home, but I have friends here who I'd miss!

I see... if I ever go home- assuming that's even possible- I probably won't be at home.

Did you leave your home during this 'Lockdown'?

Nope! Me and my friends solved the problem and now demons aren't running amok anymore.

That's a relief. My friends and I haven't really succeeded ourselves, though- I trust the Archangels back at home to keep the people safe, though.

The angels back home were kind of jerks.

Really?

The Archangels are going to be protecting the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado from the demons, so I'd think our angels are benevolent.

They were less jerks than the demons, definitely, but they were still not very sympathetic to the people stuck in the lockdown. I don't really like them that much.

I suppose that makes sense. [They don't like the people of Tokyo much.

...But the last person who said they didn't like the angel also kinda...] Maybe it's because they're just not human, so they seem more distant?

I guess that could be part of it.

If I may ask, what did the angels do in your world?

Worked with the government to arrange the lockdown, and killed anyone who tried to escape.

They arranged the lockdown? But why would the angels want demons about?

Something about testing humans?

...Testing humans? My angels wanted humans to remain unaware of demons for as much as possible to avoid hysteria...

There was a whole lot of hysteria when the demons showed up in Tokyo.

Why would the angels aim for that, though? What did they intend to test? Did you ever find out? [He's suddenly interested, words spewing out his mouth faster.]

It was at the same time as the demons were competing to become King of Bel - a demon overlord basically - and I think part of the point was that if a human could become King of Bel he could lead humanity into peace with no fear from demons, or something? Or maybe that was just what a couple of the angels wanted...?

We didn't go that route.

King of Bel? [That's something unfamiliar to him.] So... the angels wanted to risk a chance at a human becoming King of Bel, and brought the competition to the humans...?

[At least, that's what he's getting. It doesn't sound like the angels to chance at something like that, though, they'd rather keep the fight away completely unless they had a 100% ascertained outcome. Which, by her words, doesn't sound like it.] I can't write that an encomium... and, what do you mean you didn't go that route?
