[ She's been sparse with using this network of things for help, but from her recent adventures in the 13th Hour, she's realized it's inconvenient to not have an unlimited stock of ammunition and guns to throw away at her expense. It's not quite 'normal' to go up to someone and ask for a gun or bullets. She still had the appearance for a kid, even if she had gone through so many Aprils.

It's down to this, then. ]

What's the easiest way to obtain ammunition? Also, I'd like to know how easy it is to find a job. I imagine any rounds will cost money no matter what and I currently do not have the resources to purchase them at the moment.

Thank you for your aid.

[ And now, to wait. ]

[Text] Academic curiosity

I have been in this city for a little over a month. So far, I have met a great number of humans, and others who, despite appearing similar to humans, are something else entirely. I must admit, this is something that interests me. What sorts of creatures live in Hinoto-Ri? What manner of anatomical diversity can be found here? I would appreciate any and all information available.

[This is the kind of knowledge that's crucial to someone like him, after all.]

Additionally, I would like to encourage anyone reading this to visit my humble bakery, Death By Chocolate, located in the Virgo district. My work may be a recent addition to the city, but I strive to offer the most delicious baked good that can be bought. Thank you kindly for your attention.

[Really, he shouldn't be using this detestable thing. Some of its functions are helpful, but the babbling and barking of the masses, not as much. Still, there is something on his mind, and he has seen enough to know that there are some people who come here from worlds very different than his own. Even Hinoto-Ri's laws had needed studying before he could even attempt to practice law. Perhaps there is some measure of knowledge amongst the filth here.]

What is "truth" to you? And how far would you go to pursue it?

[Of course, he knows full well whom this message could reach... but he'll try to ignore that person just the same.]

[Video] The Search is On!

[A visibly distressed Sasha Fyer appears on the screen, her red eyes even redder from crying. Her voice hurried and panicked, she says:]

Has anyone seen a little fox-like creature around here? He's yellow, he's got a white muzzle, red fur coming out of his ears, and a red tip on his tail. He responds to Fei. If anyone has seen him, please let me know! He's a creature called a Pact- no, a Pokemon! A Pokemon, that's right!

On a related note, does anyone know if a girl named Kotoha is still around? She helped me get Fei in the first place, so I'd like to talk with her, too...

[video] A legitimate question

A boy in a tight-fitting black T-shirt appears on screen and fiddles with the camera for a few minutes before it all looks satisfactory to him.

"So, um. What do you do for fun around here? Aside from going to Taurus, fighting the monster that go bump into the night and eating all the pizza you ever wanted? The jerks guarding Taurus won't let me in, there's no way I'm fighting monsters and I am getting sick of pizza.

Also, does anyone know if there's a ballet school around here? I've tried looking, but it doesn't seem very popular..."

14th - Public

[This is a very public post by the fairies...how did they get their hands on one of these anyway?]

Hiya! We just wanted to the Visitors to know that your friends aren't gone! We just felt that they needed a bit of love and friendship, so we're letting them stay over for a day or two!

[One of the fairies giggles and blows them a kiss.]

We promise they'll be back like they were yesterday and we won't harm them, okay? ♥

The Perils of Academia

As the feed switches on, it reveals Desco, wearing a unusual outfit. Her normal dress-like arrangement of chitin, spines, and eyes is gone, replaced with a crisp white blouse with medium-length sleeves and a sharply-pressed black skirt. Perched over her red eyes is a set of round, wire-rimmed spectacles. The overall effect is that of an efficient, no-nonsense secretary, or perhaps an overly strict teacher.

Who happens to be four years old, but there's not much Desco can do about that.

"Listen up, students! Your munificent Queen has remembered she has a day job as a highly-paid teacher at Netherworld Institute Evil Academy! And if she wants to continue drawing medical benefits, she has to slack off and teach something other than her specialty of applied Minionology!"

With that, she thumps the ruler in her hand against the easel behind her.

"That is why today, Desco will be teaching the basics of Little Sister Moe! When Desco finishes drilling knowledge into your empty skulls, you will know EVERYTHING about the duties of a Little Sister!"

Class is in session! )

Since it's coming up soon, I've been wondering... Would anyone be interested in getting together to make chocolates for this year's Valentine's Day? I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with the day itself, but where I come from at least, it's traditional for girls to give chocolates or chocolate baked goods to the boys they like. Of course, it's nice to make sweets for your friends and family as well.

Since last year got a little... hectic around this time, I think it would probably be best if we did it on the twelfth. It's a little bit early, but I think as long as we're careful, it should keep long enough for Valentine's Day on the fourteenth.

I will be asking teachers at the Phoenix Free School if we can possibly use the home economics room, meaning this will also be open to Visitors and residents alike. I think it would be good for all types of students to have an opportunity to get together and prepare for the holiday.

Even if you don't have any experience with cooking or aren't confident in your abilities, please consider coming! I'm best with simple things myself, so if it's a matter of making those, I would be happy to help. And if those who have more experience would like to come and help teach others, that would also be appreciated!

[Well, this is certainly something he doesn't see every day. He didn't expect the portal to the demon world to bring him to a place that looks as civilized as this. Not that he was complaining. First order of business, though- he figured out how to use this eventually, with experience involving the Gauntlet. Besides the odd vision and subsequent deportment...]

Good day. [He's talking to humans, hopefully.] I have a favor to ask. If anyone sees or has heard any word from two persons named Flynn and Walter, could you tell me? Even better if you can inform me of their whereabouts.

I would greatly appreciate if someone could tell me what this place is about, as well, but I understand if that's too much trouble. [Pause.] Is this part of the demon world?

[video] Second Logic

[A certain minty-haired Visitor is on the screen today, his arm around the shoulders of a brown haired kid who may be familiar to some. Judging by the voices in the background, there’s about four people in all, even if they aren’t all visible on the camera yet.]

Hey! Lately, people have been coming by the Detective Agency thinking it’s functional again. At first we turned down requests since we’re obviously not detectives, but...

Well, maybe you should say it instead, Ayumu?

[Ayumu is pretty much resigned at this point, though his expression clearly seems to have some doubts about the wisdom of this idea. They were a bunch of kids and a tanuki, after all. Who’d go looking to them for help?]

This was your idea, not mine.

[There’s some yelling from off-screen.]

But it sounds like fun!

[Ayumu’s response is muttered.]

If anyone’s even interested...

But it’s like being a super-awesome spy!

[While they keep bickering amongst themselves, a certain assistant waltzes up to the feed and waves in that wonderfully cutesy fashion of hers. Yup, it’s Hiyono, alright.]

Ahem--what they’re trying to say is, we’re now open for business! I’ve even set up an inbox for you to send all of your requests to~

Right, right. And you were going to spread rumors too, weren’t you, Hiyono?

Mm-hmm! [The agreement is punctuated with her ever present smile -- and wait, is she proverbially sparkling as she does?] To be honest, I haven’t really worked with rumors that come true, but I guess there’s a first for everything, right?

[The look on the brown haired teen’s face is just a little wary. Ayumu could only imagine how much she was going to enjoy that….]

Well, you heard them. We’ll take on jobs if you have them in our spare time.

[There’s suddenly a tanuki squeezing his face into this shot. Except he’s in human form but whatever.]

Just try to make them interesting ones!

[Joint post! Responses will come from one of the four or more: Ayumu, Hizumi, Hiyono or Taro. Lots of threadjacking will be happening, most likely.]

[Teddie had long contemplated if he should appear on the video as his real self or in his human form. In the end, a blond young man with a smile on his face is shown on the feed.]

Hello, ladies and gentlemen of Hinoto-Ri. My name is Teddie and I've just arrived here. Since it's my first time in this city, would anybody be willing to be my tour guide? [He could probably do it himself, but that would feel really lonely.]

I especially don't mind if a pretty lady escorts me. [If anybody thinks now they have seen sparkles, it was probably not only their imagination.]

-ah!

[The feed shows nothing more than the street, but whomever the user is, they seem to have stopped abruptly from their walk. A hand lingers at the edge of the image, then hesitantly pokes at the air.]

Oh, this isn't like the regular status menus at all... I guess it really isn't the same. ...then that must not have been a dream either.

[His finger continues to swipe and prod at the air in front of him, Soujirou himself being oblivious as to how silly he might appear by either perspective. Finally his hand withdraws, the view shifting downwards as he lowers his head with a thoughtful sigh, and one can now catch a glimpse of folded arms and the length of a violet-brown hakama. Someone seems to be dressed a bit traditionally, in any case.]

January 29th

[The morning of January 22nd dawns unremarkably. A popular radio show plays as it always -- ......Wait.]

Good morning, Hinoto-Ri! And thank you for waking up to the 8:00 Daily News.

A bar fight broke out for the last seven yesterdays in the Taurus District, establishing a brand new record for our unfortunate brawlers of being the only people in Hinoto-Ri ever to be arrested on seven consecutive days. In Aquarius, our prescient prophet friend has vanished after repeated attempts to warn us about the end of days; we at the Daily News gladly welcome, at least, the end of one, specific day. Witnesses report that his full name was given as Biru Murayama; he was last seen yesterday afternoon at about 4PM - the, ah, final yesterday. Whether or not his warnings were connected with the strange occurrences of the preceding week is yet to be known.

Our major news story of the day, of course, is to report on today's date:

January 29th.

While the exact circumstances behind the mystery of the repeating day remain unclear, all reports have conveyed more or less the same details: every citizen in Hinoto-Ri awoke this morning to realize they had spent the last week repeating the same twenty-four hours of their lives. For those of you who had to suffer through seven days of exams or stressful interviews, we offer our sincere apologies and take this time to advertise our daily 2:00 afternoon psychiatric counseling show with the esteemed Dr. Tsuru. 'Dr. Tsuru: he'll see right through you.'

The mayor and City Hall have yet to release a statement about these matters, but rumors on the street seem to suggest we were saved once again by our friendly neighborhood Visitors. Interdimensional rescue operations, shattering time loops, scooping goldfish - is there anything these gallant folks can't do?

.......What? 'See why kids love Cinnamon Toa -- '

Well, let's not set the bar too high here.

As more details on the situation surface, we'll continue to provide more updates. But now, over to Iruka in Capricorn to report on dolphins or the lack thereof.

[The Aquarius Event has concluded! Please see the OoC post for more details and thank you to everyone who participated!]

January 22 (Take this is getting ridiculous)

[The morning of January 22nd dawns unremarkably -- okay no it's been more than a few times this is starting to get ridiculous. ENOUGH ALREADY!]

Good morning, Hinoto-Ri! And thank you for waking up to the 8:00 Daily News.

A bar fight broke out yesterday in the Taurus District, shattering the record four days...

[Siiiiiiigh. This time, however, the voice can be heard by everyone.]

Up! Up! Down! Down! Left! Right! Left! Right! B! A! Start!

[What in the world... but it doesn't appear to be done, as the voice becomes distorted.]

THE STRATUS HAS COME FOR US ALL!

We need to wake up. Make them wake up!

[The area around you shifts, and for a half second, you can see that the building you are standing in doesn't appear to be there, causing you to free-fall before it reappears again just as quickly. WHAT IN THE WORLD?!

The rest of the news report continues, quite familiar as you've heard it more than enough times by now... The townspeople still seem completely oblivious to everything...

Good morning, Hinoto-Ri! And thank you for waking up to the 8:00 Daily News.

A bar fight broke out yesterday in the Taurus District, shattering the record four days...[And then, a flicker of static for all those who fall under the sign of Aquarius. A harried, rushed voice comes through. Today it sounds even more urgent.]

[Nobody else will note anything unusual, although those who are Gemini and Libra may hear it very very faintly. What is that noise? It sounds like an alien language...

[Video] Groundhog Day

[Dirk, sitting in his apartment, speaks into the camera. He's got his iconic shades covering most of his face, but even if his eyes aren't visible to express his interiority he speaks with clear, purposeful statements.]

I'd like to check with anyone else out there: I've noticed that the news from yesterday was identical with today's, and all media outlets continue to list today's date as the 22nd, despite the fact that it should be the 24th (if we are going by how much time has chronologically passed). Yesterday I was beginning to get suspicious and so I made an experiment of drawing a shitty face on my arm in permanent pen, and this morning I wake up and it's gone.

There was a movie about this that my best bro was really into for a while called Groundhog Day, about a guy who repeated the same day over and over. I'm starting to think whoever wrote that movie was a fuckin' prophet. I know I'm not imagining it, but I'd like to see if anyone else is experiencing the same phenomenon. Drop me a line, let's sort this shit out.

[He doesn't end with a closing or a sign-off, just looks a bit awkward for a fraction of a second behind those dark shades and then promptly switches the camera off.]

This is totally not acceptable! I demand compensation! Whatever Hinoto-Ri is doing this time, I'm not gonna stand for it! Who's with me?! Do you hear the people sing singing the song of angry m --

Never mind, it dropped again from the same enemy and probably after the same number of RNG rolls or whatever. 'K, false alarm, everyone can go back to their daily business.

I've got a new sword to test; you guys'll have to figure this one out yourselves.

[The morning of January 22nd dawns unremarkably. A popular radio show plays as it always does, accessible from COMPs and other less fancy devices.]

Good morning, Hinoto-Ri! And thank you for waking up to the 8:00 Daily News.

A bar fight broke out yesterday in the Taurus District, shattering the record four days Hinoto-Ri has gone without such an altercation. In Capricorn, our favorite aerial friends, the winged dolphins, were spotted early this morning at 3 flying in maneuvers faintly reminiscent of crop circles. And in Aquarius, a prophet calling himself Murayama has declared that the end of the world is already here, distancing himself from the faction who claim it is merely nigh. At present, reports claim he is attempting to negotiate for air-time on our show! We'll keep you up to date as this situation develops.

But first, our major news story of the day:

Festivals.

[And then, a flicker of static for all those who fall under the sign of Aquarius. A harried, rushed voice comes through.]

Something isn't right... This is all wrong - this isn't supposed to be happening.

[Nobody else will note anything unusual. The rest of the news report seems quite familiar. And that's odd. Everything in your room seems to be exactly like you left it yesterday...

In any case, the Aquarius Event has begun!

January 22

[The morning of January 22nd dawns unremarkably. A popular radio show plays as it always does, accessible from COMPs and other less fancy devices.]

Good morning, Hinoto-Ri!  And thank you for waking up to the 8:00 Daily News.

A bar fight broke out yesterday in the Taurus District, shattering the record four days Hinoto-Ri has gone without such an altercation.  In Aquarius, a prophet calling himself Murayama has declared that the end of the world is already here, distancing himself from the faction who claim it is merely nigh.  And our favorite aerial friends, the winged dolphins, were spotted early this morning at 3 flying in maneuvers faintly reminiscent of crop circles over the Capricorn forest.

But first, our major news story of the day:

Festivals.

Last week's Coming of Age Festival was a great financial success for the city, with the net profits reported today by City Hall as 'substantial'.  The report made note of the popularity of the mahjong tables and offered a brief mention of thanks to the man who spent nearly 10000 yen attempting to catch a fish with a paper net.  Following a thwarted attempt at theft, the man was subsequently apprehended.  Unfortunately, the fish, whom he named Nemo in the ten seconds it was in his possession, did not survive the chase.

The economy, in fact, has been in an upswing since the mysterious appearance of the Persona-wielding duplicates in December, as it seems doubling the number of bodies in Hinoto-Ri meant double the amount of purchases.  Unfortunately, as the duplicates were identical in every way, no purchases made during this time will be refunded.  Citizens and Visitors alike are encouraged to enjoy the fruits of these illicit shopping sprees.

The weather in Hinoto-Ri remains quite chilly, with an alarming number of cases of hypothermia and frostbite already reported by the Caduceus Hospital.  All citizens are encouraged to stay indoors at night; Visitors who continue to defend against the demon threat are encouraged to find a Persona who can use fire-based attacks and consequently, to stay well away from residential districts.  In related news, in a bid to drive up sales, those who preorder the third book of the Prince of Junes series will receive a voucher for a one-size-fits-all thermal undershirt for half off.

And now, over to Iruka in Capricorn to report on the dolphins.

[The Aquarius Event has begun! But all seems normal... As normal as it gets in Hinoto-Ri.]

[Voice]

[Well, Shelly has had quite enough of interrogating the locals. It would have been splendid if they had managed to answer all of his questions, but that wasn't the case. Not to mention, there are other questions he cannot pose to them. He can't pose them to the network, either - not directly. But it's time to seek more information, regardless. He just has to be careful about it.]

Greetings. I am new here, and I was told that I could use this device to communicate with other... "Visitors", was it? Other people like me, at any rate. I have already asked a fair number of questions to the inhabitants of this city, but I must admit, some of what they've said is difficult for me to understand, and I feel quite lost. Any further help would be much appreciated.

Speaking of this device... The "COMP"? [He pronounces each letter separately - Cee Ohh Emm Pee.] Something worries me. How secure is it? I think I saw some privacy settings while I was attempting to begin recording this message, but are they reliable? I assume the device's functions are powered by the internet, and the problems that may arise from such a thing are well known... or so I hope. In fact, how easy is it to determine the identity of a given person on this network? You never know who you may be speaking to, after all.

[There. Subtle. Boy just wait until he figures out the government has his name on record.]

That should be all for now, I believe. Thank you kindly.
