Hello.

[Ah, the wonders of Outside World technology. This is actually quite convenient.]

I've just moved into Pisces, so I thought I ought to introduce myself. My name is Alice Margatroid. I specialize in dolls, magic, and doll-related magic.

These apartments are certainly convenient and well-furnished, but they're not very homey, are they? I suppose it's inevitable when you put this many people in the same place.

Magic? You mean, magic is an actual thing where you come from?

Is it not an actual thing here?

I don't know. I haven't seen anything like it in use. The closest is Persona, but they look more like powers than magic.

If such powers exist, then why not magic?

Yeah, that makes sense. I just come from a place where magic is flat out denied. It's something people outgrow when they turn ten or so.

I've lived on less before, so I have no complaints.

The animation of dolls, is it? I have met quite a number of witches with talent in that craft.

The principles behind it aren't especially complex, but it can be a difficult art to master.

You have my respect - that is, if you're skilled.

It doesn't mean much for me to judge whether or not I'm skilled myself, does it? I am, though.

Then at some point I'd like to see your work in action.

Specifically animating and controlling large numbers of dolls simultaneously.

I have to agree with you about the apartments, I am used to having a lot more space.

It's not so much the amount of space as it is the idea that I'm in a building with fifty other places exactly like this one.

What is there stopping you from changing it to your liking, though?

Nothing in particular, I suppose, but it's still a far cry from a home I've been living in for years.

The rooms we got are a little bare, like student dormitories. Good thing there's a lot of them, huh?

It feels kind of cramped, doesn't it? These apartments I mean. It kind of feels like we're all just in some kind of boarding school or something...

Never having been to a boarding school, I can't exactly say.

I haven't either, but from what I heard, the rooms are pretty small since they have to fit a bunch of people. Then again, we're not really required to go to school, so I guess it's not that bad...
