[The video feed flicks on to show DeDeDe standing in front of a well-stocked bar. The lighting is low at the moment, as there's still no electricity in the club, but enough sunlight is filtering through the windows to make the scene visible. The massive penguin man quirks an eyebrow and gives a small upnod before offering a casual wave.]

Afternoon, Hinoto-Ri. Seems this city's even more generous than I thought.

[He gestures behind him.]

It's seen fit to return a little business venture I was runnin' back home. Now I've never been one to look a gift horse in the mouth, and seein' as it's here and I'm here, I'm plannin' to reopen for business in a couple of weeks. This here's the Penguin's Nest, in the Taurus District right down the same street as that pirate bar and Nyx's place. I'm lookin' to turn it into a respectable establishment where adults can go to enjoy a few drinks, a little music, and the pleasure of each other's company.

[In other words, it's a sex club.]

'Course, a place like this don't just run itself, so I'm lookin' for some local talent to help me keep the place up. Bartenders, bouncers, dancers, musicians... you got somethin' you can do that you think might fit in here, you just give me a holler and we'll see if we can't work somethin' out.

Don't got much in the way of signage right now, so just look for the warehouse with the door marked 'Private Entrance.' I'll be lookin' to remodel the place a bit to draw in some more business once we get up and runnin'. I'll be here 'til it gets dark if you'd rather hash things out face to beak. Just ask for DeDeDe.

[He flashes a grin at the feed.]

I've had experience with working bars, playing music, and the art of companionship. Though, that last one I'll have to offer with some restriction.

Well, for one, it's bein' run by a visitor. I'm sure Nyx is a well-respected face 'round here who knows how to cater to the tastes of the people of Hinoto-Ri, but the out of towners need to stick together too. I'm sure you've seen the way the townies look at us. It ain't exactly what you'd call a friendly atmosphere.

Now that's not to say they're not welcome too - as long as they're spendin' and show a little respect, I couldn't give a fuck who walks in my door. But I thought it'd be nice to have a place to relax a bit without gettin' a hole stared through you for a change.

[DeDeDe's smile grows as he lets out a hearty laugh.]

Right down to business, huh? I like that. Pay's negotiable, but I can promise it'll be worth your trouble. More'n the city pays just to live here, I'll personally guarantee that. I take care of folks who take care of me.

[He's not worried about this place making enough once it opens - there's always a market for this stuff. And thankfully, he arrived with a pocket full of gold coins to float the paychecks while it's getting off the ground.]

That's quite a resume you got there, young man. You can write your own meal ticket with a skill set like that. What sorts of services are you lookin' to provide? I can use all of 'em if you're up to it.

Ahhahaha, okay, a gold tick on that front. How about the hours? Holidays? Mn?

yeah i noticed how weird theyve been acting. it even spreads to the police force in case you didn't know how deep it goes. man its just plain rude when you try helping somebody and they look at you funny!

i think youve got the right idea there. but you should probably abandon the idea of the natives ever coming in there. you cant outright put a sign on there either but with that attitude... unless their interested in giant talking penguins but i doubt that'll carry? or carry at all

I've seen this kind of thing before. When it gets ugly, it gets real ugly. I get what you're sayin', but I'm not one to burn bridges, either. If I close my doors to the natives or scare 'em off ever comin' in at all, that's just one more on a long list of reasons for them to hate us. But I figure there's just as many of 'em out there that hate the government and the Anoli, too. Might not be so bad to have people like that in your corner when push comes to shove, if you get my drift. You don't win a turf war without the hearts of the people, believe you me. Not that I'm fixin' to get caught up in another one of those anytime soon.

[He pauses for a moment to think.]

Well... I guess I'll see where things go once we're up and runnin'. I'll be havin' a little sit-down with Nyx before then to hash things out and see what kind of a niche this place can fill. A little friendly competition never hurt anybody, and it never hurts to get chummy with the neighbors when you're new in town. All the clientele needs to know is that the girls are clean and the drinks ain't watered down. The rest usually takes care of itself.

[Playing all three sides against the middle and coming out on top is the name of this game.]

You're free to make your own hours, but you don't get paid for time you ain't here. Fair's fair. Holidays are pretty big in this business, so you're gonna need to come in for those or arrange to have somebody cover your shift.

Two for one, huh? Hard to argue with that. If you want it, the job's yours. That goes for the both of you.

i can tell you one thing for sure: the idea sounds really awesome. itd be great if it worked out! just what about the non big spenders? like the visitors who dont have enough on them to well you know 'make it rain' and stuff? is there anything they could offer in return? like say if they were interested in making the place successful

but said visitors are also a bit too 'busy' to do any of that prescribed stuff you said. do you get what i mean? i mean theres always something those people could offer right?
