Text: This is a public service announcement

[After he wakes up from that weird dream, it takes him a few more hours to realize that Eikichi is, somehow, missing. And...that was it! That was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back! Because by mid-morning, there is an angry-looking text post from Tatsuya on the network, with only these words of warning.]

ATTN: HINOTO-RI

PHILEMON WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE

[That's....it. Maybe he should elaborate.]

But, but how can one be humanity? Are humans not humanity themselves? I was unaware that there was an entity that presided over it!

[THIS WENT AGAINST EVERYTHING HE KNEEEEEEEEEEW]

Hrmm, I am unsettled by this. It was my understanding that humanity is entirely under the domain of humans, with no representation by any entity, god or otherwise. To learn that Philemon is indeed a manifestation of it...

[Long pause]

If Philemon is the part that yearns for evolution and enlightenment... ah, that is why things go terribly wrong when he meddles.

Hm? Oh, it is nothing. Just that with humanity being a walking contradiction, it is unable to achieve full enlightenment or evolution. Philemon is set at a disadvantage from the beginning, whereas his antithesis, Nyarlathotep, I presume, is already at the finishing line.

How unsurprising. Chaos would get involved to the point of 'cheating', and order would maintain distance in the name of fairness. It skews the results, though. Tch.

[Anant sounded a bit disappointed in Philemon. Although they weren't sure if they were annoyed by the meddling, or the unfair bet. Well, fairness was relative, but when it involved meddling in the affairs of freedom...!!]

...? Ah, my apologies. Have I gotten something incorrect? I do assume on these matters far too much at times. Haha. Ha.

[Anant's laughter was a bit stilted and flat]

Oh! I am glad I have gotten it correct. I am not glad about the situation though.

[> Anant seems troubled...]

I do hope that those who have left return well. It would be a shame if they met their end due to means outside of their control. It is better to see humans achieve or fail their goals through their own merits, than through the meddling of a higher power. It is extremely rude for one, and...

[Grumble...]

Ah, my apologies. I have rambled, um, inconsiderately. Yes, that is it. What is said in these moments? I presume friends of yours have been stolen away by Philemon? My condolences.

I'm. Sorry.

[That is what is said when a human has something bad happen to them!! Even if it didn't make sense definition wise for the word...]
