[On the network, a video feed starts up from one of the watch comps, pointed directly at the face of the user. Said user happens to be a woman with blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail, wearing a futuristic looking armored suit. Her helmet is currently off so that her face is visible on camera.

It appears that she is sitting in a stark white hospital room, with several doctors nearby reviewing clipboards and storing samples of... are those vials of glowing blood?

Speaking of glowing, the woman herself happens to be glowing slightly blue all over, and there are dark blue veins running along certain areas on her face.

When she's positive that the feed is working, she begins to speak.]

My name is Samus Aran, from my universe I'm what's known as a space hunter, a hired mercenary and bounty hunter primarily working for the Galactic Federation. One of my missions recently left me infected with a radioactive substance known as Phazon; my body is currently producing Phazon at a steady rate, and the city's government feared that my condition may cause harm to civilians, so I have been in the hospital for the past two days while tests were being run.

As I assured them, and as they confirmed, my condition is not contagious nor is it outright harmful to either myself or any others that I come into contact with. I now assure you that there is no need to fear my condition, and I'm taking great care to make sure that I keep it under control.

[To her chagrin this might mean regular check-ups at the doctor's.]

As a warning, my body and my suit are irradiated, so radiation detectors will go off if I come near them.

I'll be happy to answer any questions or concerns regarding my condition, but first I would like to ask if there happens to be anyone from my universe currently residing in the city. If you are at all familiar with the Galactic Federation, whether you are a part of the Federation Police or military, or whether you are simply aware of their presence as the law enforcement of the galaxy you are from, please let me know.

Well, I've not heard of a Galactic Federation, but I am familiar with a Galactic Council. So I doubt we hail from the same world, unless you've heard of Cybertron.

However, I am intrigued by this 'Phazon'. What sort of substance is it? Other than 'radioactive'.

Sounds like she's got the main questions covered already, but there's one thing in particular that's bothering her.]

Commander Alia Shepard--a pleasure to meet you, and welcome to Hinoto-Ri. I'm not familiar with this Federation, but is it safe to assume they're anything like the Systems Alliance?

And this Phazon infection you have--what happens if you have too much of it?

[... Well, this is awkward.]

Unfortunately I've never heard of Cybertron, the similarities in names are likely coincidental. I'm sure there are several universes that have established galaxy-wide treaties and federations, I might have to be more specific with details of my universe.

[In answer to his question, she touches an area near her neck and her helmet appears over her head, displaying information on the visor as she pulls up a file on Phazon. She begins paraphrasing.]

It was initially discovered on the planet Tallon IV, originating from a meteor currently known as a Leviathan Seed. This seed slowly corrupted the planet until the seed was destroyed and the source of Phazon eradicated. Since then, at least three planets in the galaxy have been hit with Leviathan Seeds, and new research has recently revealed that these meteors may be coming from an organic planet entirely made of Phazon. These seeds may be the planet's way of 'reproduction.'

Studies on Phazon are recent, as the substance was only discovered approximately two years ago by the Federation. In its purest form, Phazon is a deadly poison that is harmful upon contact; it comes in liquid and crystal form. When harnessed as an energy source, equipment and subjects infused with Phazon become stronger and more agile.

[She pauses for a moment, before pressing her hand near helmet and causing it to disappear again.]

However, subjects infected with Phazon are prone to corruption, where exposure to large amounts over time causes mental deterioration and extreme hostility. Subjects have had to be terminated in every case at present.

Considering I am you, it's not much a stretch of the imagination, hmm?

[She says in a voice that doesn't sound very Ms.Aran-like at all.]

Hmmmn...

[Brainstorm appears to be mulling over what Samus has said, even muttering to himself.]

So like Ore-13, but with even worse drawbacks... May still be worth looking into, though.

[His attention turns back to the camera after he finishes.]

Well, it certainly seems to be a rather dangerous substance, albeit with possible useful potential. I would be very interested in doing some investigation into if I might find some useful applications for it.

[Samus gives a very casual salute in greeting.]

Commander.

[She's impressed to find a commander here, though by the sound of it she isn't a commander from her world.]

The Federation is an alliance of many different civilizations across the galaxy, it would probably be a safe assumption, yes. They are the main governing force in my galaxy, however I am not directly a part of the Federation.

Currently my body is stable. However, if I'm not careful, or if I'm further exposed to large amounts of Phazon, my condition may worsen and eventually my body and mind may be corrupted. In this case, either my body will deteriorate to the point of death, or I will lose my mind and become hostile.

I'm doing everything in my power to prevent this.

[And she most certainly recognizes that voice.]

Gandrayda?? [There is an uncharacteristic amount of surprise in her voice and expression.]

[The ruse undone she reverts to her normal form.]

Ha ha haha...you should never trust strangers even if they look like you, Sammy.

I would like to request that you refrain from attempting applications of Phazon in technology or biology, though I would appreciate further research being done. As of right now, lack of research and care regarding the use of Phazon as a power source has resulted in the corruption and death of two space hunters, one of whom was a mechanical entity with biological properties. And this was just within the Federation.

The Space Pirates, a hostile civilization from my galaxy bent on domination of the known universe, have been using Phazon to create extremely deadly bioweapons.

While I can't deny that it may be useful, so far it's posed more of a threat than it has done good.

[Perhaps a surprising response to her antics, Samus delves into a rather serious matter.]

Gandrayda, where have you been for the past several weeks? [She couldn't have been here, time doesn't pass in this universe, or so she's been told.] The Federation lost contact with you soon after you arrived on the Space Pirate Homeworld. They had feared that something happened to you.

Well, that certainly derails my initial usage ideas - or at least sets them back a great deal...

[Not that he's one to let this stop him from doing questionable things with dangerous tools. Besides, how can he resist the siren call of "Extremely Deadly Bioweapons"?]

I've no biological properties myself, but I am rather interested in finding alternative energy sources for myself. This world isn't exactly accommodating to mechanical life forms and our fuel needs, so any chance to find something better than the foul rubbish I've had to make do with in my time here is something worth investigating for me.

And I assure you, I will be quite careful in this endeavor - I have no interest in putting myself at any kind of risk.

I don't remember anything of the sort happening. The last thing that happened before I was sent here was the dark figure that looked like you attacking all of us.

My own armor is rated for mild radiation exposure so that won't be a problem.

But I've never heard of a Galactic Federation.

[ Says a figure with armor that is about as shoulder-tastic as Samus herself, though even less of his face and eyes shows through the glittering red slits of the helm. ]

As for me, radiation is of no concern.

[ Mostly because of his Astartes immunities. He doesn't really even need the armor. Heck, certain members of his legion known as destroyer squads use rad grenades and rad missiles from Old Night as standard issue.

After a moment's pause, he realizes he should greet her.]

Greetings. And welcome to the battle. My name is Cerberus.

This post looks like a party for those of us from spacefaring societies, so allow me to greet you on behalf of the Galactic Republic, Ms. Aran. My name is Meetra Surik.

I hadn't realized we had quite that variety of galactic governments. I think all we're missing are an Empire and a Plutocracy.

[She appreciates it, considering she had feared the worst for Gandrayda, after what had happened to their fellow bounty hunters.]

I don't understand... That was a little over a month ago for me. After that entity attacked us, the four of us were infected with Phazon, and out bodies began steadily producing it. My body took the longest to stabilize after the attack, so in the meantime you, Rundas, and Ghor were sent to destroy Leviathan Seeds that had struck other planets in the system.

The Federation lost contact with all three of you shortly afterward.

I found Rundas and Ghor, but I had yet to find you.

"That is not anything like the Pan-Galactic Alliance, is it?"

Desco is eying you suspiciously.

That's probably because I didn't want to be found while doing the mission, Sammy. I wouldn't be a good hunter otherwise, hmmm?

[Sorry being serious doesn't last too long. Or at least sneaking in about how she's really good at her job.]

I've been here long enough to know this is a common occurrence. red a few posts where others found part of their teams coming from a different time and timeline from them.

You know, I always had a feeling there might be more than one universe, but this is something else...

You were still required to stay in contact with the Federation, though I can understand if you weren't in a position to do so, considering your location. I was going to head down to the Space Pirate Homeworld to locate you, but then I arrived here.

[A different time? It wasn't too surprising, it actually made some sense, that people would be randomly pulled from different points in time. This doesn't do much to ease her fears about Gandrayda, however.

Samus is silent for a moment while she contemplates whether or not she wants to catch up Gandrayda on everything that had happened.]

... From my point in time, Rundas and Ghor are both dead. When I found them, they'd been corrupted by Phazon to the point where their minds had deteriorated past the point of reason, and they attacked me.

[You can probably put together the pieces of how exactly they died...]

I fear that you've been similarly corrupted, from my time. Currently, though, you don't seem to be infected at all.

I'll have to ask you to find a different power source. Even Phazon isn't a limitless power source, and it could put the innocent lives of the civilians here in danger, which is why I have a responsibility to keep the infection under control.

In my universe, I'm working to get rid of it altogether.

[Her gaze back at Brainstorm isn't exactly threatening... but it is cold and full of warning. She knows better than to trust anyone with Phazon, after all of the death and destruction it's caused and nearly caused.]
