The video feed opens with Shura sitting at her kotatsu, wearing a party hat at an angle on her head.

"Happy birthday to me... I don't know my own age... Happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday to me..." He singing is mercifully interrupted by her sighing heavily.

"I know, age is a construct of the mind, etc., but I still would have wanted to know if I'm actually an adult yet or just pretending... not to mention it'd give me an idea how long I spent into the Vortex..." She sighed again.

"Anyway... I guess I should do something to celebrate... what do you think, Hinoto-Ri?" She thinks for a few minutes, staring dreamily out the window at the falling snow. "First snow on my birthday too... it feels like it's been years..." Finally, she looks at the watch recording her. "Guess I'll go to the arcade. If you wanna join me, head to the Growlanser Arcade in the Cancer Ward!"

The feed turns off, then on again after a few seconds.

"Yamato Hotsuin, that means you. I'm coming to get you."

He was genuinely surprised at this. Ever since Kaito- he had been a bit cautious when it came to bonding with others. It seemed it happened all over again anyway, even if he didn't feel the same sense of inexplicable trust and expectations in Shura as he did Kaito - or rather, had felt, or still- it was confusing.

I am not sure how birthdays are celebrated. I am aware presents are exchanged, but I have nothing for you.

All things are born and all things die. I understand the desire to celebrate birth and death and life.

I don't see the need to focus on the specifics of one person and when they were born.

I celebrate another year of surviving the Vortex's shenanigans. It's worth something to me. And I'm lonely here today so I invite others to join me in that celebration. I mean, you're not exactly the person I wanted this world to bring over from the Vortex.

Would you have cared for anyone from the Vortex World to have appeared here?

It's your birthday? If it's your birthday, then of course you have to celebrate! I'll be over to the-- [Oh god how is she going to find the arcade she doesn't even know what an arcade is.] -- the arcade in a half an hour!

Hopefully she'll find the map function on her COMP. Maybe. "Thank you, Elizabeth. I'll look forward to seeing you." A beat. "Do you want me to get you at the main Cancer station?"

Oh goodness no, you needn't bother, I'll manage on my own. You have fun, I'll catch up in a little while!

"I'm not sure. My world has always been very tiny so if one was destroyed we could move it."

"My ship was my world. A tiny space ship. Well, not too tiny, its in the park, but given its nature it was easier to move."

"Oh. I was speaking more in terms of an entire universe dying. A bit like a person. Life, death, rebirth. The reincarnation of a world. I'm living in the 'death' phase."

"So your whole universe died? How sad."

"Yeah. I, uh. Am trying to fix that. In a way."

"You know how to fix death?"

What. "Uhm, no. It's much more complicated than that, but no, I can't fix death. I'm more trying to... make the world livable for a people I've met." Yeah, that was t. No need to mention killing god and destroying creation in the process.

"Well, if you need data on terraforming I have that."

"Terra... what?"

"Terraforming. Making a planet capable of sustaining life like Terra or as its known by most, the Earth."

"Oh! That would be useful! ... although I'm a bit busy today, as you can tell. Can I contact you back about this?"

"Certainly. Whenever you'd like."

[Never mind existentialism, that was one of the few places Latooni knew to go where she'd actually have fun not working.]

"Yes!" Shura appeared on the screen in a thick army green hoodie. "I'm on my way now, you can join if you want! The more the merrier right?"

Oh! Um...actually, I really like the arcade, and I don't have to work today. If you'd really like me to come, I'll be right there.

"Of course I really want you to come!" Silly Latooni, she wouldn't have asked you to join her if she didn't want you around. "See you there, ok?"
