Good day everyone, and welcome to all of our newcomers! My name is Elizabeth Middleford, and I hail from Her Majesty Queen Victoria's time. If you are a Londoner around, do feel free to ask for my apartment number so you can drop by for tea. If you aren't a Londoner, feel free to ask anyways! I do love meeting new people, and I would certainly love the chance to entertain you and help you get settled into the city life. It's quite unlike any city life you've had before, to be sure!

[She clears her throat and smooths down the front of her dress a little nervously.]

There is a matter of business that I must attend to, as well, since I'm here and recording. Miss Ruri and I have been working on getting her ship Nadesico into working order to become a boarding house, and now it's ready. As of today, we are opening it to any and all ladies who wish to join. To be quite honest, I'm not sure how well-received it will be or how to manage it if some of you do decide to join, but I promise that the foundations will remain true to any other boarding house. The Nadesico will be your haven and home if you so wish it, with sisters who can support you through times of trouble, if you so need it.

[She smiles brightly.]

Oh no, London is a city on the world I come from. The actual world is called Earth.

Really? You must be from a pretty big world, then!

[Hey, most of the worlds he's been to are only one or two cities.]

What kind of place is it?

Oh yes, it is! I hope to travel one day so I can see the rest of it. [She laughs before perking up.]

[He probably sounds like a little kid in a candy store right now, with all this talk about worlds he's never visited.]

Well, Earth is very large and diverse. I've never been to all of the places in it-- not for a lack of wanting, of course, but because I have duties to attend to here at home. I do know what some of the other countries are like from books and stories, but I couldn't speak expertly on them.

London, though-- ohhh, London is a wonderful city! It's so alive, always bustling with excitement and activity. There is always something to do, someone to meet, somewhere to go. I really don't know where to start since there's so much to talk about.

Woah! If just one city is that exciting, and the world is as big as it sounds, it seems like it would take a lifetime just to see it all.

I agree whole-heartedly! I imagine it would take several more lifetimes to see all of the worlds of every person that is coming into Hinoto-Ri as a guests, too.

[She beams.]

Oh yes, it is one of the world's greatest centers of high society and culture. It's a very exciting place to be in the late 19th century.

That's true. I've been to a lot of places, but seeing so many people from different worlds in one place like this reminds you of just how worlds there are.

Still, I'd love to see yours sometime. Maybe after we've helped this city, I'll figure out how to get there.
