[There's a scrambling sound and a few mutterings of "you turn on the video over here, don't you?" before the video finally turns out, showing the somewhat morose face of one (1) Sam Erstwhile, disheveled brown hair almost covering his eyes. He glances away with a slight frown.]

Um, right, what was I going to say here...

[And then a nod as he looks back up.]

Right! Right. Erm, yeah. Hello to all of you, I guess. I'm Sam and...I just arrived a few days ago, so I'm sorry if I'm still new to all of this.

[He tries his best at a smile, but it's kind of a pathetic try, at best- his mouth just quirks upward for one second before dropping down to it's usual position.]

I...I just am a little confused, honestly. I mean, people have told me about the Persona thing and the fact that we have to fight monsters and all, but, I mean, why were we chosen in the first place? I know plenty of other people who would be way better at this than me. And it's not like I applied or anything, so...what's so special about me?

[He sighs, scratching the back of his head.] Somebody I talked to before talked about how they choose us based on our souls, but...I just want to hear what other people think. I'm not really interested in why we were chosen, more like how we were chosen, if that makes sense. What sets us apart from all the other people from where we come from?

Because, I dunno...I think they made a really huge mistake when they chose me.

Yeah, same here! I don't want to get eaten by demons, and if this is the only thing that can protect me...

Then yeah, I'd rather have it way more convenient to have, really.

Well... I found out... I was the Goddess Maiden. In my world, that's- um- a really big deal. [Very quickly,] But we're not there, so-! Really I'm more like a normal girl than a Maiden. Here.

It might not be. If you had any special powers in your home world, then they should still work here.

[After all, Chrome's already tested her illusions and Tsuna's dying will still works.]

What if you don't have any powers whatsoever? I'm pretty normal...

Goddess Maiden? Sounds important.

[A pause.]

And you're normal here...but what did you do back home, as a Maiden? We don't have those were I come from.

[She seems relieved, that he didn't freak out or make a scene. She sounds a bit less nervous as she continues.] My most important job was to sing Metafalica. Our land was- well- [sigh] Our home was kind of crummy but we always had faith in Metafalica: The green land. [For saying it was crummy, her tone is nostalgic.] Even when we weren't allowed to sing it for years. We knew someday, the Maiden would sing Metafalica and life would be better.

But, um, it wasn't all me!
It turns out that if I sang it alone? I'd have died. I had to sing it along with another Maiden and all the people on the land. And I had to completely understand her heart. Only then could we make Metafalica a reality. So, after all that- I'm really not surprised if the two of us were picked for something like that...

If we want to know what's going on here, we'll probably have to search for the answer ourselves. The natives of this world don't seem to be much the wiser than any of us.

I think we'll all be here a while, so I'll probably get the occasion to share the story later.

*Shura scratched her chin.* How to explain... the demon world is actually here, but, in a different dimension, if you will. Demons are walking in the streets of Hinoto-Ri right now, only on on a different plane so humans and demons don't meet. At night, for some reason, the "wall" between both dimensions weakens and demons seem to appear, but they've always been there.

Metafalica- is that like a song? Huh,I didn't know that a song could being back life or anything like that.

That sounds like quite the quest, really...I mean, so, did you eventually make it reality? Did it end well for you and your people?

No, they don't, do they?

[He seems somewhat miffed about that, scratching the back of his head with a slight frown.]

Everyone's left in the fog when it comes to these things...I'm not even sure there are answers, anymore.

So...that means I could be walking into a ton of demons and not even realize it? But I can't touch them because they're on another plane. Huh.

If they can cross from their plane to ours, is it possible that the other way around could happen?

Yep, you are walking into demons all the time, so to speak. And so are they.

I guess technically it is possible, but I can't say if it's happened or not. I've only been here for a month at most.

[He shudders.] That...that is definitely something I don't want to think about while walking around.

Oh, not long, huh? Has anyone stayed longer?

Oh yeah, definitely. Some people've been stuck here since last year or so I think.

Probably. Humans seem to have a problem that concept, but oh well.

[He laughs.]

Not quite. Though, I guess, in some circles, that's true.

Well, it is rather hard to think about, you know. Gods all in the same general plane...

[He really tries to think about that, but is coming up with nothing.]

Unfortunately, no... Not many details have been disclosed, I'm not sure if anyone knows about what is going on in their original worlds for the time being.

[Aziraphale gives a thoughtful hum.] I could likely find you work at the library here, but it's not exactly the same as a bookstore... There are quite a few bookstores that I'm sure would be happy to take on a new clerk, however.

If there are, someone is bound to come across something sooner or later.

[His expression remains blank, but inwardly he refuses to believe that there really are no answers.]

Apparently, but Philemon keeps dragging them back here.

Oh, that's...that's not good. Inconvenient, really...

[A sigh.] Either way, a job would be nice to take my mind of the fact that, you know, I'm stuck somewhere else with demons running around. So, I guess...I'll think about it?

[A pause.]

Why-why does that name sound familiar? Is he the one I saw in my dreams? Before I came here, I mean.

Yes, but I've heard people have been here for at least a year, you'd think they'd come up with something by that time.

If you mean Butterfly Man, then yeah, I think that's his actual name.
