hello residents of hinotori. i am here today to extend a helpful hand to you all. what a dead world you reside in. a miracle you survive for so long. demons prowl and yet humans still manage to survive in the face of adversary. how does such a weak creature gain such strength. they are wild and conflicting in their ways. their emotions are inscrutable. perhaps it is those things that are their strengths. they are like cockroaches. i mean that nicely. the humans of my world lived in a world that was dead. this one still has some life. some. in any case i should get to the point. please excuse my poor literacy. i do not know how to write human very well. i am trying however. the spellchecker function on this is very useful. the point. cries of assistance was given. i enjoy helping humans. i wish to be benevolent to you. however power lies in faith and faith can only give power. my followers are no more so their prayers cannot reach me regardless. therefore i extend a hand. i will be blunt. residents of hinotori join my cult. :) i added an emote of a smile because smiling is said to make people more relaxed when asking them of things. so please. consider my proposal. :) :) :) :)

Okay, I think I get that, but what if, hypothetically, a monster woke up one day and wanted to change it's ways? Do something other than destroy and devour and other such things. Would it be considered human?

I mean, there must always be a mutant somewhere, I think. An outlier, a creature that doesn't fit in...

Then it was always human to begin with. Change does not occur as spontaneously as people think. There are subtle changes, slow realisations, that culminate into an epiphany - or a reaction. It is like a lighting up a fuse, and waiting for it to reach the explosives.

Okay. Hmmm.

So, if a true monster couldn't become human, could it happen the other way around? Could a human being become a monster?

But they would still be human. As I said, subtle changes take place, so there will be a story as to why they became a monster, and at their core, they would always be human.

[He's silent at that for a while, eyes glancing downwards with an unreadable expression. Always human, huh? He remembered what Y, that creature he had wanted to destroy so badly back home, had whispered into his ear when they turned against each other:]

[And Sam had tried to escape that. Humanity meant weakness. So, to be told that in this person's mind, no matter what he's done to himself, he's still human at the core, almost annoys him.]

So, in the end, monsters and humans will be two different things entirely, as far as you are concerned?

Of course. They are completely different, yet humans always try to become monsters, something they are not, when they can only be born that way.

Why would one wish to shed themselves of their humanity to become monsters anyway? It is impossible, since human desires, and human wishes, urged them to attain that lifelessness. A monster that yearns for humanity is one whose soul is evolving, despite the fact that monsters do not possess such an ability. So are they human in soul, yet monsters in body?

Souls are mysterious things, and the greatest power humanity has. It is what makes them stronger than monsters. Despite being weak, to have nothing but their imagination and stubbornness to give them strength, humans always succeed and persevere - even the apocalypse, they survive!

Truly...they are an inspiring, beautiful thing...

I'm kind of working on that last option, really. Though there's no doubt I'm not bad at being me! Being me just isn't the best type of believer after meeting a handful of god figures. Geometric or otherwise.

oh. you meant believer in the divine. that is fine. you do not have to believe me to be a god. not many do anyway. humans are very suspicious beings.

Uh...wait. How are you supposed to get power if people don't believe in you as a god? Aren't you starting a cult? The whole, Clap If You Believe thing?

clap if you believe. i do not understand. i said power lies in faith and faith can only give power. i did not mean myself specifically. when humans have faith they gain power. i have seen many humans endure many hardships because of faith. when they have one sole thing that they believe in. it gives them great power. if you believe in me as divine you will have that power also. if you do not then you will have to have that power from somewhere else.

yes. i am benevolent. i hate to see humans suffer. unless they brought their own suffering upon them. then it is interesting. they bring about their own misery just as they bring about their own happiness. the choices they make. the consequences. it is enjoying to watch them struggle. to see how they try to escape their unhappiness. but they are weak species. despite being so incredibly strong. i am moved to assist. even if i do not wish to meddle in the actual free will of the human condition. does that make sense.

Can you really help people be happier without meddling in the whole human condition thing though?

it is difficult to judge when the time is right admittedly. but i have it as such. those that choose to be within my cult. choose to throw themselves beneath my protection. i will only assist is something outside of their choices moves to harm them. such as. if a demon appeared and attempted to kill them. i will move to assist. demons are not as interesting as humans anyway. so i have no hesitation in obliterating them if needed. although i do dislike killing things. even demons. especially human looking ones. but again i am off topic. so although i cannot directly affect their happiness. i do try to prolong their lifespan to continue pursuing their happiness.

Still, that's not so bad. What if someone's on the path to self-destruction or something though?

i wont help them. it is their own choices that would bring about their self-destruction. in fact. it would be absolutely fascinating to witness. as much as humans defeating the odds of defeat is fun. so is watching humans dig themselves a bigger and bigger hole for them to tumble into when their choices bring them to failure. free will is a glorious and terrible thing. you are free to do as you wish but you are also free to destroy yourself in the process.

So basically you just want people to do whatever the hell they want?

yes. be it for good or ill.

That sounds kind of dangerous, doesn't it?

but the full potential of humanity can flourish when unrestrained. that is what i want to see.

I guess, but... It seems like a lot of people could get hurt or in trouble that way. Or some people would "flourish" at the cost of others.

yes. i know. is that not beautiful. it would be amazing to watch. humans thrive best when thrown into chaos. they scramble and claw themselves to higher and higher heights. i do not like to see them die. such potential snuffed out. but if they fight and fight til the end of their time. i cannot complain. they would have lived to the very limits of their being.

From a certain point of view I suppose, but I don't really think that's very beautiful. I'd rather live like a normal guy if I could.

and what is living like a normal guy.
