You'll have them questioning the reality of their own existences! It's correlational - if we're from fiction, they'll realize they are, too. Then we'll be dealing with existential crises on top of the monsters.

Don't be ridiculous! Our being from a video game doesn't make anyone else fictional, it just means our world happens to be a video game. For all I know everyone else here comes from a world where they can play our game!

C'mon, Pit, use that noggin! Fictional characters can't exist alongside real people - it just doesn't make sense! We're either all real or we're all fake here.

And given the scrollbar I see on the right, I'm pretty sure it's the latter.

Besides, it's more fun to see the funny looks they give us when we're subtle about it.

Like how do we know they look like metroids? Why did we think of Donkey Kong with those jump pads and rolling barrels? If we're fictional, we shouldn't know all this stuff! But we do. That's just how it is. So I don't see how it's impossible for us to be from a video game and still be around people who are real.
