[It's been a while since the Skorpius attack, and Nano's finally gotten some time to decompress, unwind, and get to know her Persona.  She's even made some friends around town, so she's feeling a lot more confident and much more like she has a place in her new surroundings.  Unfortunately, in Hinoto-ri, she can't live on a stipend like she does at home with Hakase and Sakamoto, so she's found herself having to look for a part-time job to support herself.  Since she already does all of the cooking at home, a cafe sounded like a good fit.  The manager of the establishment Nano found first took one look at the wind-up key in her back and offered her the job immediately.  What she didn't know at the time, however, was that she'd actually accepted work at a maid cafe.

Nano was rather surprised at the uniform they expected her to wear when she showed up to work the first day - a pink and white maid's cosplay outfit.  It's decked out with the lace headband, frills everywhere, thigh high stockings, white leather shoes... the whole nine yards.  Between the costume and the key in her back, there is some pretty powerful moe going on here.  And despite Nano's embarrassment, she's very conscientious and dedicated once she's made a commitment, so she's doing her best to make sure the customers are happy.  The fact that she's blushing from head to toe and shuffling around nervously for most of the day only adds to the overall effect her outfit is having on the patrons.  She greets every new arrival with a smile and a polite bow of the head.]

A-ah... welcome home, master!

[That, he was used to having. Though with a more Tau name than 'tea'.]

[And she skitters off to the kitchen before returning with a pot of tea and a fancy-looking teacup with cutesy designs on the side. Setting them down on the table, she gently pours him a cup before stepping back with a bow.]

I hope you find it to your satisfaction.

[He reaches up to undo the clasps on his helmet and pulls it off. Can't quite eat while wearing that thing.

Before taking a sip, he inhales a deep breath through his mouth. That's how he smells with no nose, ya'know.]

[Well, that was unexpected. Nano was just getting used to the thought of this guy being a robot, but instead he's a blue-faced alien. She'll just be standing there trying not to stare and failing miserably.]

[Sssssh, he's drinking the drink. Tea reminds him of home.]

This is...satisfactory.

I-I-I'm glad you enjoyed it...

[There's a bit of a pause here as she tries to figure out the right word.]

...sir?

Shas'la Kais. Call me that.

[Because he certainly wasn't a high ranking anything nor respected enough to be called sir, in his opinion.]

Shas'la... san.

[Nano nods, bowing her head politely and trying not to stare.]

Kais. Shas'la Kais.

[Whatever a san was. Even if Tau were based off of China and Japan, he still did not know this stuff.]

A-all right. Shas'la Kais.

[She repeats the name slowly to make sure she gets it right.]

Is there anything else I can get for you?

Do you have a protein supplement?

[all_wound_up]

Um... we have cake...

[greatergone]

That is a pastry, correct?

[all_wound_up]

Yes, that's right.

[greatergone]

That...may be satisfactory.

[all_wound_up]

I hope strawberry is all right.

There should not be any issues.

I'll be right back, then.

[And it's back to the kitchen for a few minutes before she returns with a slice of cake with vanilla icing and a strawberry on top.]

[It's certainly a...sweet pastry. Thankfully, Tau aren't uncultured brutes like humans and he knows how to use a fork. Which he does, taking small bites out of the cake slice.
