Introduction [video]

[The video clicks on, revealing an individual in blue and... lighter blue armor. He smiles at the screen, before continuing]

Hello everyone... my name is Mega Man X. I don't expect this to mean much to the majority of you, but I'm what's called a Maverick Hunter. We deal with reploids... err, basically sentient robots that have decided to rebel and threaten the rest of society...

... There's a bit more to it than that, of course, so I'll just cut to the chase. I'm a peacekeeper, so I'll do everything in my power to ensure the safety of everyone living here.

[X smiles again, only this time it's a bit more obviously nervous looking]

It seems I arrived after a bit of excitement went down... I wish I could have been there to help everyone. Rest assured, if anything like that ever happens again, I'll do my best to help put an end to it.

Ah, also... I'm staying at Libra 8-02, and if any of you live near there, I wouldn't mind meeting my neighbors. [soft chuckle] Additionally... would there be anyone out there whose familiar with doing maintenance for high-tech machinery and equipment? I can get by on my own for a while, but I'm no lab tech...

I suppose that's all. I look forward to meeting all of you.

You claim to be a peacekeeper. I knew robots like that... but I knew many more who slaughtered under the order of their programming. I am assuming you... combat ones like that?

... It's a bit more complicated than that.

Reploids and myself... we're not bound by our programming. We're essentially the same as humans, just with stronger abilities. But some ultimately decide to turn on their fellow reploids and humanity, or become infected by a virus... these are what I referred to as Mavericks.

I fight them, but... I wish it didn't have to be that way. Especially those that end up infected. I've had to retire too many people who were once good, peace-loving individuals...

Everybody has the seeds of violence in them. The same is for the living as well as for the machines.

...I have faced many, many hardships thanks to this robotic technology. But... such technology has served its purposes too. THAT one had a free will too...

Well, whatever. I suppose I will simply have to trust that you are more than just mere machinery, as you say. Forgive me if I have troubles shedding my doubts, however.

I suppose I could give it a shot - the maintenance, that is. I'm no medic, but I suppose if you consider yourself in need of maintenance like that, I could probably pull it off.

Ah. I have a friend back home who is a robot... but she's the only sentient one I know of there. [ Excepting of course prototypes and others of her model, but as far as Minato knows, none of them are functioning at present besides her. ]
