[Ayumu is pretty much resigned at this point, though his expression clearly seems to have some doubts about the wisdom of this idea. They were a bunch of kids and a tanuki, after all. Who’d go looking to them for help?]

Of course. [Ayumu doesn't even respond to Hiyono, just shrugs. He was expecting a reaction like this, which is why he was so resistant to the idea in the first place. People weren't going to trust a bunch of kids and a single adult much.] No one has to come to us for help, but we're there if people want that option.
