[The camera is slightly obscured - it's clearly Minako, but the watch's camera isn't being held at the proper angle to show her entire face. She's smiling, though.]

Hello, Hinoto-ri! I don't want to take up too much of your time, because I know a lot of people are busy right now, but I have a story to tell, if you're willing to listen!

Once upon a time, a girl grew up all alone. One by one, the people she cared about disappeared from her life. The girl kept smiling and trying to make friends, but deep down, she knew the truth. Eventually, those friends would leave her too. Her destiny was to be left behind.

Then one day, the girl was given a choice. Disappear quietly along with the world and the people you care about, or give up everything to save them - including her soul. Her sacrifice meant the world would live, but she would still be alone. Forever.

[She pauses, the cheerful smile still on her lips.]

[Minako, I hope you don't mind some tall guy moving your face around like pudding because Eikichi is moving your cheeks around and looking at her eyes.

The advantage of being vain is that you notice the little details very easily. In this case, yellow vs red eyes.]

[Whether or not Minako minds isn't really a question anymore.

It's whether or not Shinjiro minds. And he sure as hell does.

He's already taking to his feet the moment Eikichi storms into the room, on guard with the obvious aggression behind the sudden, unexpected entrance. And even though that wanes into something far from volatile—not like he's throwing punches and shit—as the moments progress, Shinjiro still minds. He's certainly not obligated to disregard any of that, and he's not going to just sit there, because as far as he's concerned, what he's doing is not okay.]

Hey, [he says, as he starts to briskly clear the distance between them, voice clipped in warning.] Back off.

[And Eikichi has about two seconds to do it, or else Shinjiro will happily do it for him.]

[Minako could definitely handle herself in this situation.... but having an intimidating boyfriend right here with her doesn't hurt at all.

She gently shoves Eikichi away, then gives Shinji a look that says clearly "it's okay."

For her. Not necessarily for Eikichi.] I don't wear contacts, Eikichi-kun. What exactly are you doing?

[This intimidation would work a lot better if Eikichi hadn't attended an all boys correction school. At least Minako was shoving him with a lot less force than Ginko ever did, which he could appreciate, so he crosses his arms instead, glaring at her.]

Don't you what am I doing to me, chica! You were on the network not even two minutes ago talkin' about your life story and your eyes were yellow, Michel remembers a face when he sees one! Now either you turn into a yellow-eyed chick during a full moon, or you've caught something from whatever Astrology that's cursing us this month!

[Intimidated or not, Shinjiro comes to a stop behind Minako. His mouth thins in response to Eikichi's accusations, and his eyes flicker towards his COMP screen, before flickering back to Eikichi again. He doesn't know what the other Minako said to him that ticked him off so bad, but shit.]

That wasn't her.

I haven't even been able to get on the network, Eikichi-kun, let alone post to it.

[And if she did, she definitely wouldn't be saying her life story. Slightly concerned now, she turns to Shinji, because he sounds like he's actually knowledgeable about this.] Do you know what he's talking about?

Yeah.

[And he was getting around to explaining things before moron had barged in. He fights back a grimace.]

I was talking to her just when you came in. Thought she was you.

[And his eyes fix on Eikichi.]

But apparently not.

[Not exactly, anyway.]

[Still not convinced, sorry. So instead of saying anything, he just looks at Minako like she will magically know what to say.]

Talking to who, though? There's someone pretending to be me on the network?

[you are both still speaking foreign languages.]

[He looks away for a moment, running through current options, before his hand reaches for the COMP on his wrist. He uses the watch to pull up the network again, accessing the feed that had been cut off not so very long ago. He puts it on mute as he tries to find the point he's looking for, because he's sure as hell not about to air a private conversation in front of Eikichi any more than he has to in order to prove a point.

And there's a part of him that doesn't want Minako to hear the conversation yet either, though that's probably going to be inevitable at some point. But that point doesn't have to be now. So he rewinds the video feed to a few seconds before the other Minako terminates the video.

Then, he gently nudges Minako aside and steps in front of her so Eikichi can see and hear the video too. He unmutes it, and starts the video recording (But then, it wasn't really a choice at all.) so that the two of them can see and hear the duplicate for themselves. It plays up to the point the real Minako knocks on his door, her voice coming from off-screen and clearly somewhere else, and not from her look-alike, until the other Minako hears it and terminates the feed with waved goodbye.]

[Well...uh....]

So two of them...

[Possibly affected to the current sign? He's not sure which one that is actually, a quick research on his own COMP reveals Sagittarius. Oh yeah! Right after Scorpio, his own sign. Hmmm...]

[Where did those nano-machines go? Don't they usually pop out? He was using them not even a few minutes ago.]

[If this were June, then the side-effects would make more sense than they currently do so far. But it isn't like the Zodiac effects have every been that picky. He frowns.]

[Someone is still furiously trying to type into his system and getting and error.]

...wait. He turns around slowly to look at the both of them.]

[He rolls his shoulders in a shrugging motion. Minako not being to access the network because of her almost-twin is as good of an explanation as any at this point. And he turns to face Eikichi with a level expression.]

Dunno what else you'd want to call it.

Well if she's pretending to be me, we can't just let her run around, Senpai. We need to find her!

Chica, if it's what I'm thinking right now, it's much worse than that...

[Okay how the hell does he even begin to explain this, especially since he can't access the network right now...]

..that is you. [That won't make much sense so he quickly adds;] Well, a part of you. [NAILED IT.]

[If the duplicate was "just pretending" to be Minako, he couldn't help but be a little disturbed at the amount of information she seemed to know about her, and the things she said on the public network that wasn't any of her business to tell. Especially when Shinjiro hadn't been able to tell the difference. He had got that something was wrong, but shit like that happening wasn't all that uncommon here.

His expression thins as he weighs the idea of going to look for her—if it would really be that good of an idea—when Eikichi speaks up again and he turns to glance at him sharply.]

What?

[That's Minako's line.]

Well--[wait a minute. For a minute he was going to go on about what he had to go throught then realized,]--weren't you a Persona user before coming here?

You should know about this part! [He coughs.] Y'know. Shadows and stuff.

We fought the damn things before, but they never looked all that human. Not like that. Not like any of us.

[Though he guesses with Ryoji's existence, it's not like they couldn't, now he thinks of it. ...But he was a technicality. The exception, not the rule, as far as Shinjiro saw it.]

Though one person who worked with us [not going to bother saying his damn name] guessed that at least some of the [he pauses] Irregular Shadows that appeared outside of Tartarus came from other people.

[But he hadn't been about what to believe then. It was all theories, no proof. Not like Tartarus would make any damn sense to Eikichi anyway, but there's no helping that.]

[Minako is putting things together now, with what Shinjiro says and what Eikichi had just said.] I think he means like what Souji-kun's team and Labrys-chan faced... A Shadow of themselves.

[She doesn't know very much about the circumstances. They'd never gone into much detail - but she does know that their Personas had awakened very differently than hers and the other members of SEES.]

But I thought those Shadows appeared before you had a Persona. That's what I heard, at least... and defeating one would allow you to use a Persona yourself.

[Oh good, she knows what she's talking about!][Now he's looking a bit confused when she goes on. Shadows appearing before they had Persona?]

Nah, when we had to face out shadows, they were guardian skulls in temples. It's a part of you that broke off, created by the rumors from the town and the parts you don't like or are too stupid to realize...I fought mine and he also had Hades...
