We're up against... some other god (don't quote me on that) and you have been brought in to help us fight a war (don't quote me on that) you don't have to fight for us though (*see the note at the end of this explanation) you can just live a normal life or even just go home also butterfly wont be helping you bye now.

i'm a trainer- we go around with our pokemon and battle one another
i became champion, which means i was supposed to guard my region
well, two, since johto and kanto share a champion
so i was supposed to stay put and wait for emergencies
i got asked to check out something on the mountain, so i jumped at the opportunity i guess

and a trainer has to defeat all their regions gym leaders- masters of a specific pokemon type -to even get to challenge the league champ
it's a big deal but i don't really want it to be
