[Action for the Misato House]

[Aoi has been acting strangely as of late. Not only has she been calling Avitus and Otonashi both "idiots" quite often, but as the memories get worse she can sometimes be seen with a hand over her face, clearly in pain. Whenever she catches herself, she does feel horrible, but she's been able to do that less and less recently...]

Sorry, I'm not sure what's come over me.

[It was just meant to be a simple shopping trip, but for some reason or another, Aoi found herself drawn to a weapons shop. Which, while not entirely odd in itself (she did need to maintain her naginata after all) was a bit different when she started looking closely at the combat knives on sale. Just looking at them, she somehow knows she would be able to use these - and quite well if it came to it.]

Well, it might come in handy...

[Private to Yuri Nakamura]

[After a while, it became hard to deny that she probably knew the person whose memories she had gained. After all, she had met Hinata and Otonashi and knew they were part of Yuri's group. Eventually, Yuri will get a call:]

I think we need to talk.

*He'll turn and give her an unimpressed glare. What, she's mad they're in her way or something? Pfff, he was here first! Besides, he was busy cleaning again. What was she doing that was so important she couldn't just go around them?*

....Yeah, whatever.

*An annoyed sigh, and he goes back to dusting. He's been a lot more confrontational lately, himself... and hanging around them more, too, rather than keeping to himself as usual.*

My memories... I'm having a hard time knowing which ones are mine and which aren't. It's-- confusing.

[When Avitus speaks up, she turns to give him an unimpressed look of her own.]

[The rising tension has him slumping, somewhere between annoyed, empathetic, and too exhausted to be breaking up fights.]

Ahh, no, don't start. This is a bad month for everyone, isn't it...

It's... strange.

[And then something seems to occur to her.]

You're part of the SSS, aren't you?

Yeah. [He reflexively answers her, but then hesitates. Is the SSS relevant anymore? They aren't dead and they don't seem to be opposing anyone but each other.]

I-- think so. It made more sense when we were dead... Why?

I remember... missions?

[Her brow furrows as she tries to access the memories, but in the end, all she can come up with is...]

...'Operation Tornado'...?

*He just shook his head a little, not bothering to look over. Quiet, more to himself,* Nothin'.

*Gonna just concentrate on cleaning nearby, don't mind him. He's not deliberately trying to eavesdrop, honest!*

Wh--?! You know about that? [Of course she does. Everyone has been talking about mixed memories on the network. Once the initial shock wears off, he straightens up.]

Is there... anything else you remember?

Three children... in a large house. But then, they were-

Her lips form a tight line, and she goes quiet.]

... Every ten minutes, a sibling was killed. It... took 30 minutes for the police to arrive.

[She doesn't have to say anything more. The story isn't his, but he knows it well.]

Those are Yuri's memories.

I was beginning to wonder...

[She gives a small sigh.]

Those memories are... horrible. To have to live with that...

["She doesn't live with them" is the first thought that comes to mind, but if she holds no memory of Yuri's actual death, then it may be better to avoid the subject.]

She's... really something. Those memories have made her strong enough to lead people. [But--]

They can also make her... difficult.

I do remember kicking someon- Hinata? Off a roof, too.

[That memory most definitely cannot be hers. Logically, she hadn't known Hinata until they met in Hinoto-Ri, and that place was certainly not the city.]

Yeah, I've... heard about that. Hinata mentioned it once or twice.

[And he's not amused. Even in that world, he hated to take death lightly. It still hurt, after all.]

That's what I mean...

I can't believe it took me so long to realize something was wrong. In my situation, normal people at least wouldn't be able to revive from a fall like that.

[...Although for many of her friends, jumping those distances wasn't really a problem. Neither had it been before they got their powers, in the case of a certain two.]

No, how were you supposed to know? Seeing flashes like that would make most people think it was their imagination, or some kind of... bad fever dream.

[He gives her a sympathetic look.]

Believe me, I know...

*finally speaking up... if speaking as quietly as he is could be considered speaking up in the first place. He's keeping his eyes on what he's been doing, though he's mostly just being needlessly perfectionistic at this point, to give himself an excuse to stick around there with them.*

I think... I got some of it too. Not those memories, but... someone's.

I know I never beat up monsters. *More of a frown to himself there, still trying to figure that one out*

Eh-- So it's your memories, too?

[She turns her focus to Avitus.]

Beating up monsters...? What kind of monsters?

Not those memories specifically, but... seeing people die in unbelievable ways and live from it...

[He's no stranger to that; however, he's also aware of Avitus speaking up again. All of this is concerning.]

This isn't happening to me... maybe because I don't have very many memories to share. Should you try to find the person who's supposed to have those memories?

Just... monsters. Dunno how to describe 'em past that, but they're not the other clans from my world.

*quieter* Never beat those up either....

*peeks back at Otonashi, and then to Aoi, thinking that over... but he's not sure how to answer just yet. He's busy thinking on something....*

[...Well, she had seen a death herself that had been miraculously reversed, but she also knew the exact reason for that.]

How is this only affecting some of us...?

[But then, she shakes her head.]

No, what we need to focus on is how to deal with it right now. Avitus, can you think of any other strange memories that might give us a clue...?

[He shakes his head in turn, sighing.]

I don't know anything about this... [So he'll stand off to the side, instead waiting for Avitus to weigh in.]

*thinking, thinking...*

Uh... like... cooking? Making stuff out of... like, cloth and yarn?

*quieter, looking away, vaguely reluctant, since he knows very well what admitting it's an errant memory implies--* Having human friends as a human? *Quieter still,* Havin' parents?

*He shrugs.* I dunno if those'd help much....

Do those people resemble anyone you have met here, by any chance...?

[After all, the thing that had tipped her off the most was recognizing Hinata from her memories, despite only meeting him here in Hinoto-Ri.]

*after a second, thinking about it, he nodded* ....I think so... but I haven't seen some of those people lately. I'm not sure they're even here any more.
