[Action- in front of Daemoniac Inc. Cancer District]

[Walk through the Cancer Ward, and you will probably spot the large building in the middle of it, a state-of-the-art structure that reflects the technological wizardry of the area. One might marvel at it, and the locals do seem to be doing so as their eyes wander over it, but there is one person who does not seem to be marveling at it at all.]

[You might look over this young man sitting on a chair outside an internet cafe, with his disheveled appearance and general unkempt hair that scream "possibly homeless or worse", but his gaze, strangely enough, never seems to leave the building. Look closer, and you'll see that the knuckles on his hand grasping the cup of water before him are white, he's grasping the thing so tightly. And his stare holds a level of malice that contrasts harshly with his general harmless appearance...]

[This is not the image of a man who is happy about what he is looking at, at all.]

[Sam Erstwhile appears on screen, frowning sadly- while everyone is busy with the hubbub of the tournament coming up, it seems like he'll be the only person who will always be miserable, no matter what.]

Look, um...I hate to ask this, because it's totally unrelated to anything about the tournament, but I felt I really needed a answer to the question as soon as possible.

[He lets out a sigh as he scratches his shaggy head.]

Things are exciting here. More and more exciting. There is even a tournament! I have never participated in one before - it is a friendly contest thing, yes? I cannot wait to see how everyone performs. The aim is to win, so everyone will be fighting to the best of their ability, to beyond their very limits, otherwise the win is tainted, yes?

[Er, did their voice get a bit weird then? A bit deeper? Hm, oh, no, their voice is back to normal]

I hope so in any case. It will make this dull otherwise.

There is a question to be asked.

Hatred and Love is viewed in equal measure. Humans normally say love is worth more. In recent months, I have seen media that espouses that love will always succeed over hatred. Hatred is inferior. It sustains only the self, but it is like poison also. Pure intentions become twisted, revenge distorts the mind and morals, and eventually hatred destroys the individual...

I must admit, this confuses me. I have observed no such things in humanity before. Ah, the corruption, yes, but hatred has sustained and protected humans as much as it has poisoned them. It is usually love that brings about self-destruction, as they hold another's life higher than their own.

So, I have always viewed hatred and love being of equal measure. They are different, yet powerful in their own right. It is like that saying, what, pears and lemons? Apples and peaches? Whatever.

So my question is thus: what do you think is more powerful or more important? Hatred or Love?

4th Cooking Attempt [Action/Video]

[It's only been a week since the place sprung up from the ground and Yukiko has been hard at work trying to clean the place up. After the first contact, the city had mentioned a company that would send people over to become her new staff. Only problem is that they won't arrive until next week, without a doubt due to the Grand Prix coming up. At first Yukiko was fine with it and she could get things straightened around so it would be nice for the soon-to-be workers.

She didn't expect any kind of pest problem to occur. And not just any kind of pests like the normal bugs, rats, or others. These buggers were demons. Not just any demons...

Pyro Jacks.

Those little bastards who were half the reason why the holidays went crazy are relaxing in her hot spring and having a lovely time. Well, until Yukiko showed up.]

GET OUT OF HERE!!!

[That's the polite way to say it...]

[When the video turns on, the first thing people will notice that it's dark with little spots of floating light popping up. And is that...laughter? Damn pumpkin thing!]

I have a pest problem right now: Pyro Jacks have somehow decided to invade this place and I need them out before any damage can get done!

[Wood and fire? Yeah, do not mix. Even with Amaterasu standing there for light purposes, it's not helping the situation.]

If anyone has ice powers, an ice persona, or can get rid of pests, I can use your help at the inn in Scorpio. I don't have much for payment but when it opens, I can at least give you a free night's stay.

My fine citizens! As yes, you are considered to be full citizens of the Hinoto-Ri City Family, I have asked the Wise Men in extending a public post from my network to yours regarding a tradition that has been going on for the past four years (since my first foray into the world of politics and the new city's Mayor!).

The idea of petitioning the a government isn’t new, but using your COMP system to directly add your suggestions and idea for our fine staff to review over is! And at the start of each new year we ask the citizens of Hinoto-Ri what they hope we can accomplish in the upcoming new year.

And so, our Greatest Heroes, Our Visitors from Other Worlds, I ask you this;

What do you think we could do to improve Hinoto-Ri? To make her a strong city, to push boundaries, to one day understand how we came to be this way?

This is no small task, but I am determined to do it one way or another!

My administration is committed to creating an unprecedented level of openness in government. We will work TOEGETHER to ensure the public trust and establish a system of transparency, public participation and collaboration!!! Openness will strengthen our democracy and promote efficiency and efffectiveness in government, this I am certain of. As it was with how the Featherman Rangers had to come together to defeat the enemies, with your help too, shall Hinoto-Ri free itself of oppression and become a great city, despite the troubling times that surround us.

ITP: Training and help

[Almost four months.

That's how long she's been here so far. It's odd how fast time can fly, especially when one has no idea what they're doing. When she came here, her birthday had just past and she'd been caught up in a magic war for an artifact that could grant wishes with a familiar called a Servant at her side. And, oh yeah, her cats had still been kittens.

Now she's in another world with a strange power and charged with saving it. It would be amazing if she had any idea how and, frankly, she's felt restless and useless as of late. While she doesn't want anything awful to happen at the tournament, she does hope it at least gives everyone some direction on how to help the people here.

And her cats were now great big fat lumps who lay everywhere in the apartment she and her uncle share and who are beginning to get picky about what kind of food they eat.

Life, had gotten really interesting as of late.]

I see that the Velvet Room is open again. Would anyone with ice magic be willing to assist me transport something Miss Caroline requested? I would be willing to repay you somehow. Additionally, I realize I've been here for some time and while I've been training my body I have yet to train my persona. This needs to change. [ Late Friday morning, Minato manages to coordinate his sluggish movements enough to start a video feed on his COMP. He'd honestly rather just ask this by text, but he's having difficulty focusing enough to type, and video is easier. He's looking pretty pallid, though his cheeks are flushed with fever and his eyes are a bit glazed, as he sniffs and shivers and blinks blearily at the camera. ]

Anyone know where to go to see a doctor? [ His voice is very froggy, and although he opens his mouth to say something else, he breaks off with a cough, and he turns the COMP away while he recovers, muffling his coughs into the crook of his elbow. ]

Ah... sorry. I also... wanted to know if the doctors here made house calls...

[ It's cold outside, and he has a fever and doesn't relish the thought of stumbling to a clinic on the other side of the city. ]

6th Screw [Action/Video] - Backdated to the 9th

[Action - Ichiban Market, Virgo District]

[It's been a few days since the market from home appeared in Hinoto-Ri, and Nano's taking full advantage of the convenience and familiarity of the location. She spends a good few hours shopping around for various ingredients and household necessities, filling up her shopping bags with soy sauce, daikon radish, leeks, miso, rice, and all sorts of other ingredients common to traditional Japanese meals. Feeling very at ease here in a place that's almost second nature to her, she hums cheerily to herself while she's collecting everything.

Unfortunately, after she's paid for everything and is carrying everything out in a large brown paper bag, her nice casual shopping trip takes a turn for the worse. Right after emerging from the store, and completely without warning, Nano's left arm falls completely limp. She lets out a surprised yell as the grocery bag goes tumbling from her arms, its contents spilling out all over the sidewalk. Immediately recognizing something as deeply wrong, Nano glances around quickly and starts to scramble to pick everything up with her one good arm.]

[Eventually Nano makes it home, and after no small amount of privately worrying and panicking, she turns on the COMP to reach out for some help. It's not help she particularly wants to ask for, but she has no idea what's wrong or how to fix it on her own. She's doing her best to hide the fact that one arm is completely out of commission, aiming the shot at her face only.]

U-um... I hate to impose, but is there anyone out there who knows a lot about fixing things? My, um...

[She glances around the room briefly before returning her gaze to the camera.]

[This is probably the first time Terra has actually felt like posting something on the COMP network, instead of just replying to things. But considering the arrival of certain buildings, he feels the need to... well.

Advertise for one of them.] I'm sure a lot of you have noticed the new buildings in town by now. One of them is an ice cream parlor called Frozen Fortune in the Virgo District. It comes highly recommended. ... Just be careful of what you get. The ice cream is great, but it can have an effect on you.

This city is starting to resemble London. [Monsters prowling the streets at night... Ah, how nostalgic.]

Even defending yourself may not be enough. [Isn't he helpful? There is even a positively diabolic smirk on his lips.] The monsters of the night can learn your weaknesses no matter what you do.

[He rests his cheek against his hand, looking...well...tired. After seeing his Persona (or Personas), he hasn't been able to sleep. He even has to suppress a yawn behind his hand.]

3. [Text, locked to the Network]

Hello, everyone! ＼(=^‥^)/’

I have a request for the Network today. I don't know if there's enough time for this before the tournament, but I fight with a naginata and it's really conspicuous to just carry around. Since we have some great engineers here, I was wondering if someone would be able to design a naginata that could fold up or retract to fit into a handbag. I'll pay you for the trouble, of course.

And also in exchange - Well, not really in exchange, because this part is open to everyone! But the tournament uses Evokers, which is a pretty different style of Persona-summoning from usual. I use an Evoker normally, so if anyone would like to practice with one, or practice with a Persona in general, I'd be glad to help out! I'll be down in the Capricorn ward if you'd like to meet me there.

This is only the second time Locke has addressed the network directly, but it's important, and that can be seen in his serious expression.

"Considering the recent announcement about the Prix and the Anoli, and the willingness others had in wanting to help, I've decided Hinoto-Ri might benefit from it's own branch of the Hellsing Group. I worked for a branch in my last city and it seemed to help there whenever a threat arose."

He pauses. This isn't like him at all...but, then again, this whole idea's embarrassingly new to him, so he keeps his doubts out of his face and voice.

"The purpose of Hellsing is to protect the city and it's inhabitants from demons, monsters, and other people looking to do harm. While we do need combatants, we also need people who are more brain than brawn. He need Field agents, people who can do research on things the field agents will be facing to make them more prepared, and we need strategists to put it all together.

If you'd like to help but prefer to work alone, we hire contract agents as well. You'll be associated with Hellsing, but work when you want and get paid when you do.

If you do work for the group...I can promise the hours will be flexible and mostly up to you...what i can't promise is that it won't get messy sometimes."

Another pause as his mind races to make sure he got everything.

"Hellsing also offers protection for anyone who might need it, the base is protected by magic and we'll offer you any assistance we can. Anyone can work for Hellsing, so long as you're a visitor. If you haven't unlocked your Persona, or if you don't really know how to fight but you want to help, we'll train you.
...if you have any questions, let me know, I'll be happy to answer them."

He smiles and ends the feed.

[Bright and early on the morning of the fifth of January, Cloche's network feed clicks on. The camera bounces with her steps as she walks down the streets of the Pisces Ward with purpose. She doesn't know quite where she's going yet, but she's clearly going somewhere. And she's very clearly furious.]

Good morning. [From Cloche's tone of voice, this is not a good morning. This is a terrible morning. This is a morning that's clearly out to ruin the rest of her day with a trashy gossip magazine.] If anyone else on the COMP Network has received a copy of the January 4th, 10AC issue of--[Here, her expression twists into one of distaste.]--"Teen Beats Magazine," I demand they delete it immediately. It is a lewd and slanderous piece of trash that besmirches the good names of no less than twelve of the Guests!

[Including Cloche herself. Oh, she's going to ring somebody's bell alright. But absolutely not in the way that the article implies.]

As for myself, I'm attempting to locate their offices to demand they take down their-- lascivious article at once. No forms of consent were given. Permission was not granted! They have no legal standing to drag our names through the mud. I absolutely won't stand for it!

[Click! Well, it's pretty obvious someone doesn't have a good sense of humor about being included on the Sexy Visitor Watch... Cloche and her, ahem, two good friends are marching up, in person, to vehemently protest the article and complain loudly to whoever runs the magazine.]
