[When the feed comes on, not only is it unusual because it's being broadcast on the public network, viewable by practically everyone in the city, but it's also tilted down at someone who is laying on the floor, wincing in pain, clearly coming from the watch on his wrist.

For those of you who have met the other Joshua, this one would look familiar... However there were two distinct differences. One, most noticeably, there's a large scar going down the left (his right) side of his face, from above his brow down to his chin, over his eye; that eye is also very clearly blind. The other difference was the black metal collar around his neck, bearing some numbers on it. And it was... smoking?? Were those black scorch marks on his skin underneath the collar.]

Well, I've decided that perhaps now is a good a time as any to give out a public service announcement to anyone from Alpha Omega... do not try to tamper with your collars. We may be universes away and yet I'm certain that Val is still laughing at us.

[He gives a bitter smile which quickly fades into an embarrassed scowl as he turns his gaze away from the camera with his next admittance.]

... Also, I can't move.

[Major electrocution kind of took a toll on him... On top of locked up muscles he thinks he might have sprained his ankle, maybe his other wrist too. Everything was simultaneously numb and throbbing painfully...]

When the feed turns on, the little demon girl has both of her red eyes fixed directly on your collar. The golden, slit-pupiled eye in the middle of her forehead is mostly looking at your face, but its gaze occasionally slips downwards as well.

"Hello! If Desco understands your message, that collar has electricity inside it?"

She doesn't bother to let you answer before her wide and pleading red eyes look up from the collar and fix themselves on your face as she unleashes her Ultimate Little Sister Puppy Eyes technique.

"Can...can Desco please eat it? Pleeeeeeeease?"

... Joshua blinks at the feed, giving her the strangest look he's given anyone in a very long time...

"Yes, there are electronics in this collar... I'm sorry, I must have heard you wrong, you'd like to eat it??"

Who in the world... he's seen plenty of strange people in his time, but this by far had to be the strangest person...

Desco nods furiously at this.

"Yes! Desco really likes the tingly taste of electronic things, but Daddy and Big Sis almost never let her have any."

Her red eyes close in bliss as she loses herself in a memory.

"The way the sparks feel as they slide down Desco's throats gives her goosebumps just thinking about it!"

She's actually shivering in remembered pleasure.

I'm coming to take you to the hospital.

[ hello. the feed flicks on to... your double. he sits cross legged on the floor, his camera obviously sitting on a table in his room, steam rising from a small cup of tea in his hand. all he does is watch the screen somewhat expectantly. waiting.

Regardless of the circumstances, tempting fate and then whining over the outcome won't help anyone. He should be glad he has companions to ensure he doesn't starve or become dehydrated.

There was no way of knowing whether or not they were still active without testing it, and it was too dangerous for most of us to risk.

Your concern, although poignant and very indicative of your true nature, is a little misaimed, don't you think? [ joshua leans forward, his free arm coming to rest elbow on the table and chin in his hand. he ignores the tea. this other joshua knows what "interest" looks like, doesn't he? ]

I wasn't aware that I sounded concerned...

[His offer of 'help' was more sarcastic than literal. Joshua just tilts his head to one side a little, wincing a little at the pain such movement causes him.]

... So... I have this unnerving feeling that I'm entirely aware of who you are... You must be curious to know who I am.

Isn't that a little excessive? [He was used to the convenience of the medical ward, after all. And he didn't like the thought of the white sterile walls of the hospital anyway, it reminded him too much of the station...

Joshua just furrows a brow at her and shakes his head a little, groaning at the pain the movement caused him. He honestly just wanted to stay where he was and just... lay down for a while...

"If it's tampered with, I'm afraid it'll electrocute me further. And you, possibly... plus I have no idea how this would taste any good. There's more inside the collar than electronics; if i'm not mistaken, there are spikes and razors inside as well."

That's one way of putting it, I suppose. Look at it this way: I wasn't sure whether or not it was still armed. Therefore, if I'd been cautious and it wasn't armed, I would have needlessly kept it on longer than necessary.

Now I know that isn't the case. And I'm able to share this fact with the others from my world.

Perhaps throwing caution to the wind was foolish, but isn't that what science is all about~?
