Isn't that mandkind's power, though? It goes beyond their decisions and actions as individuals- and surpasses the rabble of groups and petty squabbles. Humanity is made up of all of these parts, and yet, humanity is still here.

Yours was not the first trial a god unfairly taxed humanity with. I do not doubt you are not aware of that. But even in those places, those times, there have been people letting their attention wander. There were those who sought the simple in place of the complex. And yet they still did what had to be done, and fought for their beliefs and desires.

You do not wish to once again save the world, no doubt. I cannot make you do or believe anything, nor would I desire to do such.

But I ask you to please see humanity for all of itself. Do not let Nyarlathotep's trials burden your heart against it. They will be lax, and make mistakes, and they may take too long, but that is their freedom. That is why they survive. It is something no god can truly take from man, and something no man should relish in return.
