I assume you have all educated yourselves on what Philemon's intentions and goals are for this city in his latest charade, or you would not be wasting your time humoring that ludicrous and insipid excuse for literature.

Now, what about Nyarlathotep? Have any of you figured out anything about his plans for this city, or are you more concerned with petty child's play?

It's a bit odd since this isn't a civil affair, though given the importance of it, I suppose it wasn't surprising.
Yes-- I think asking her about it would be best course of action.

I think you may be overestimating me-- I wasn't trying to be humble, just simply stating the facts.

Defeating them? If they're not infinite then perhaps that's possible, though I do see how that would be a rather difficult proposition.

Maybe not "indefinite defeat"-- I suppose that wouldn't be entirely possible. Striking them down like you or me is probably nigh impossible, actually.
But you can't fault anyone for wanting to try.

I think you'd get in more trouble messing around than hurry home more quickly.

Hmm? How so? Focusing on your own lot in life can't be a terrible way to live, can it? A lot of people do it, and I think most people are motivated to do good things. The actions those people take can't do much harm.

Focusing on oneself isn't bad, but it can lead to being short-minded and forgetting to account for those that might not be immediately affected. More of a problem of neglect than actual malice.

The same can be said for those that have a broader range of mind, however.

Well... It seems like the least of a lot of evils to me, but I can't argue with that. Anyway, as long as we try our best to treat each other well, things should turn out all right.

The least of all of them could still be pretty bad if there's nothing worse.

But I should hope most people have altruistic intentions of they chose to stay here, at least, so I suppose there's that.

Optimism is always a good thing. And if we're the only ones that can help, then I'm glad a lot of people have chosen to stay here. It reflects well on us.

Honestly, I don't know.
But since I've been displaced here, I have nothing left to lose.
So I'd rather see them crash and burn.

Well it's not my world, and I can't really go home.
To be honest I don't really care about the city.

What difference it winds up making is quite inconsequential as far as you are concerned. This world and the circumstances that brought us to it are quite strange, and merit investigation.

It's not any of our homes. Even though it seems to be trying to make itself that way.

[Though the castle isn't really his home... who knows where his home actually is?]

I don't have any attachment to any of it. I just want to know more about it. When we have the whole picture then we can make our own way.
