How do you get your persona to shutup

[His wonderful plan of letting himself get mauled during the Thirteenth Hour didn't exactly work, so now he's just hanging around the city. He really should get a job; the extra money from the government that had been waiting for his return would pay for food for a little while, but not long. Still, it's hard to be motivated to apply when you can't even really bring yourself to want to socialize at all.
Aah, and his favorite arcade got ransacked recently too. He doesn't even have a good distraction to keep his thoughts at bay and, more importantly...

Can you just not use it if its hurting you ? A lot of the personas i know are animals. they never talk
