Text: This is a public service announcement
[After he wakes up from that weird dream, it takes him a few more hours to realize that Eikichi is, somehow, missing. And...that was it! That was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back! Because by mid-morning, there is an angry-looking text post from Tatsuya on the network, with only these words of warning.]
ATTN: HINOTO-RI
PHILEMON WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE
[That's....it. Maybe he should elaborate.]
PHILEMON WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE
[That's....it. Maybe he should elaborate.]
text;
I HONESTLY CAN'T THINK OF HOW MUCH MORE EVIDENCE I CAN GIVE HERE.
text;
You might be the first, hence why many people are inquiring for your reasons.
text;
ACTUALLY I THINK WE GOT OUR PERSONAS BEFORE THEM BUT I WAS A KID THEN. I...NEVERMIND THAT'S NOT THE POINT.
THE REALLY SHORT VERSION IS THAT PHILEMON AND NYARLATHOTEP DECIDED TO DO AN EXPERIMENT TO SEE WHAT DIRECTION THAT HUMANITY WOULD GO IN AND IT ENDED BADLY.
text;
[Great. Her group has bested gods before, but they didn't have to deal with gambling gods either. Just mass destruction.]
Although it might be a stretch, it could be possible that this Philemon is different than the one you are used to. In this city, people and beings with differing sets of memories are a very real reality.
But now I'm curious; you gained your Persona as a young child?
text;
ANYWAY YEAH, ME AND MY FRIENDS DID. HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF THE PERSONA GAME BEFORE?
text;
No. I have not. What is it about? [She's curious, but the idea of there being a harmless game about Personas gets her back up already.
Of course, she's assuming that it's a harmless game here.]
text; and i'm back...
IT'S LIKE ONE OF THOSE GAMES YOU PLAY AT A SLEEPOVER. THE POINT OF IT IS YOU PLAY IT AND IT'S SUPPOSED TO SHOW YOU YOUR FUTURE OR IDEAL SELF.
BUT YOU GET A PERSONA INSTEAD.
[No, the "ideal self" part of it isn't lost on him either...]
text; whoop!
That still doesn't explain how you acquire it though.
Experience has told me that most situations, a Persona is gained under dire situations. I doubt that a simple game can supply a cause like that.
text;
THAT'S HOW THEY USUALLY SHOW UP, BUT IN THIS CASE, AFTER YOU PLAY, PHILEMON GIVES THEM TO YOU.
[Yep, just handing out Personas like candy. Although it is similar to how some of the visitors here have gained Personas without any prior experience. Just...no game involved this time.]
