Video; pretend it wasn't posted in the dead of night
[This file registers as a regular video, but upon activation it displays significantly differently than a normal video - instead of showing a person in a specific place, it projects a translucent, 2D image of a girl on the COMP glasses' display. In the corner of the HUD, you might notice a new little button has appeared:

Even if you were to stop watching this video right now, the button would persist. It's a new, permanent feature of the COMP: it appears on the screen of the watch, as well.]
Let's see... good, I have all the settings done correctly this time. My word, this system works differently than anything else I've ever seen.
[Instead of an actual voice, her words appear inside of a text box beside her.]
Greetings, Guests of Hinoto-Ri! My name is *Hyun-ae - don't pronounce the star, it's simply to show my status as an AI. I was recently installed as a new, 25/7 administrator of the network: simply put, I'm here to monitor things and make sure it all keeps running smoothly.
You might notice a new addition to the COMP - [At this point, she gestures to the new button.] I've created that as a means to facilitate communication. If you have any questions for me, or really need any help at all... well, here's an example. Let's say you're lost and need a specific map? I can find it for you in an instant! Just ask! Additionally, if I need to speak to you, I'll do it through that button. It'll flash blue when I'm trying to get your attention, so please don't ignore it for too long.
...Well. I believe that's everything I can think of to say.
...Well. I believe that's everything I can think of to say.

Oh, yeah, I think so... [Hang on, he'd gotta get used to this text-talking thing.] It was a program called Tico. She was the online admin for an application my friends and I were using back home.
[...Hm. He idly wondered if Nicaea still worked.]
Re--Really? Was it that serious? [Hmmm..] Now that I think about it, the Anoli did hack into some of the broadcast waves, didn't they?
no subject
*Tico sounds like your typical AI name, yes. Well... if you notice any disparity between the service provided by *Tico and myself, please tell me. I want to be as helpful to you all as possible!
[*hyun-ae you are trying too hard here - at the discussion of the Anoli, she becomes quite a bit more serious.]
You're right, they did. I'm also here to make sure that never happens again.
video
Oh-- no, that's OK. Tico uh... wasn't really that helpful. [Ahah... well, Tico wasn't UNhelpful, but she was pretty extraneous a lot.]
Well, that's good. [It's a load off of his mind right now, at least.] But by later... do you mean that video the others went to go investigate the other day?

[Extraneous is the exact word she aims not to be. And that's why she's infiltrated literally every technological advice she possibly could!]
Yes, the video footage made in the Mictlan. Unfortunately I don't know the exact contents of it myself, but I've been informed that some very important people went MIA as a result. Releasing me was a natural conclusion due to us being suddenly shorter on hands.

[Just don't tell them that it might get a bit creepy.]
Oh yeah, Brainstorm, Q, Minerva and Orpheus-- they made it back just fine from what I heard though. Did Ideo and Brainstorm make you or something...?
no subject
[Alas, no one must ever know her kawaii plans of network wide domination...]
Oh, no way! I've existed for quite some time now, but it was on an isolated mainframe. The Seven had no hand in it.
no subject
[Don't. Worry. About. It.]
So wait-- did you come from another world like us? Or were you on this world before the whole disaster thing?
no subject
[*Hyun-ae mulls over how to answer Daichi's question for a bit - well, it's not really worth it to lie. But how should she frame it?]
I'm not from this world, but I'm not exactly a Guest like you.
I honestly have no way of knowing how long I've physically been in Hinoto-Ri... The computers that I was previously hosted on lacked a power source until a time not too long ago, and that's when I woke up.

[He guessed it kinda made sense, since all sorts of buildings were popping up around here from outside the city. At least, that's what he figured was going on.]
Heh, who knows? Maybe you came here when the rest of us first got here.
--Oh! Uh, right, I don't think I actually introduced myself. My name's Daichi Shijima. It's nice to meet you.
no subject
So your name's... Pardon me for having to ask, but I'm still getting used to how everyone's names work. Which part of that is your personal name?
no subject
With a name like Hyun-ae... I guess that means you're Korean or something?
[You're lucky Kaito's his best friend or else he might not be so chill about it.]
