Hello. My name is Naoto Shirogane. I thought I would at least introduce myself over the network. I'm afraid I still have quite a bit to learn about this place but what I do know so far has been quite intriguing. The method of accessing the network is a bit unique as well...

I'm curious so if you would indulge me for a moment... How many of you were familiar with the term 'persona' prior to coming here? Also, who was familiar with the term in the context of using it to describe the power that people gain here?

As for 'persona', I did read about it once or twice back home... though I didn't know about a context like this.

I see. The term originates from the study of psychology. Even here I can't say it strays far from its intended use.

I knew a little about Jungian psychology before I came here, but just the basics. Enough to know there's something kind of weird about being invited by a guy named "Philemon" and find out you've got a Persona that pops out of your head to fight and protect you. And something about Shadows to worry about... for some people?

Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen any of those yet, so that's probably just an issue in certain worlds.

They are both common psychological terms. Persona and Shadow, that is. I can't say I'm familiar with Philemon, however.

In order to obtain one's Persona, one must tame one's Shadow. That's how it worked where I am from.
