[Action- in front of Daemoniac Inc. Cancer District]

[Walk through the Cancer Ward, and you will probably spot the large building in the middle of it, a state-of-the-art structure that reflects the technological wizardry of the area. One might marvel at it, and the locals do seem to be doing so as their eyes wander over it, but there is one person who does not seem to be marveling at it at all.]

[You might look over this young man sitting on a chair outside an internet cafe, with his disheveled appearance and general unkempt hair that scream "possibly homeless or worse", but his gaze, strangely enough, never seems to leave the building. Look closer, and you'll see that the knuckles on his hand grasping the cup of water before him are white, he's grasping the thing so tightly. And his stare holds a level of malice that contrasts harshly with his general harmless appearance...]

[This is not the image of a man who is happy about what he is looking at, at all.]

[Sam Erstwhile appears on screen, frowning sadly- while everyone is busy with the hubbub of the tournament coming up, it seems like he'll be the only person who will always be miserable, no matter what.]

Look, um...I hate to ask this, because it's totally unrelated to anything about the tournament, but I felt I really needed a answer to the question as soon as possible.

[He lets out a sigh as he scratches his shaggy head.]

W-what's the best way to get rid of nightmares?

My friends...back in Vatheon...in my home world. Well, my friends are everything to me.

Well, of course. That's what friends are for.

Vatheon...what sort of place is that?

*Selphie smiles brightly at that - because yay, Sam is talking more like they are friends now*

Vatheon is a bubble under the sea. There's a whole entire city down there, and it's really pretty.

Under the sea?? Whoah...how did you guys breath? Through magic?

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie shakes her head, almost like he's asking a silly question*

It was a big bubble. A permenant bubble, and we all just breathed like normal under there.

[primordial]

...

What if somebody popped the bubble, though? Would you all die?

[booyaka_boom]

*She's actually never really thought about that* Well.. I guess. But I don't think it's poppable. There was once a giant octopus that attacked though. That was kinda fun!

F-fun? That sounds terrifying!

I mean, hopefully nothing worse than that happened, right?

Hmmm...

*Selphie shrugs slightly and glances around*

They have 'curses' back there. They last a week, usually, and could be anything - like turning into an animal, or swapping bodies with someone, or they could be something like everyone seeing your inner thoughts...ghosts from your past...

Turning into an animal? S-swapping bodies? What? And you had no control over this whatsoever?

Why in the world would you live somewhere like that?

[booyaka_boom]

*Sorry Sam, but what Selphie is giving you now can only be called a 'look'*

Do you think I upped and moved there cause I wanted to? It was exactly the same as us winding up in this place.

W-what?

[And he was thinking that it was her home world!]

So, you were kidnapped there, and then kidnapped here? But how?

*Selphie gives a bit of a sigh and shakes her head, like she's annoyed with the whole ordeal*

Yup. I don't even get it. I didn't think it could happen first time round, never mind all over again... Urgh.

Oh...I'm sorry that happened to you. I mean, I couldn't imagine going through the same thing all over again.

Which do you think is better, though? This place, or Vatheon?

[booyaka_boom]

Hmm... I dunno.

*She sighs and looks down at her feet, kicking at the ground*

I was used to Vatheon, and all my friends there... Guess I just gotta get used to this place, and maybe I'll like it just the same!

[primordial]

It must be sad, leaving all those people behind. [He glances at the ground as well, mouth creasing in a sad expression.] I can't imagine how lonely you must have been when you came here.

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie glances up at him then, surprised at his empathy, but appreciating it all the same*

Yeah, it really did suck, leaving two worlds of friends behind. But hey, I just gotta make new ones here, right?

[primordial]

[Trust him, he honestly doesn't care. He's just saying it because everyone loves sympathy.]

Yeah. Yeah, exactly...I'm sure you will. You're a good person, Selphie.
