ATTN: From his Honorable Mayor Kazuki Sakahagi Hinoto-Ri Public Poll
My fine citizens! As yes, you are considered to be full citizens of the Hinoto-Ri City Family, I have asked the Wise Men in extending a public post from my network to yours regarding a tradition that has been going on for the past four years (since my first foray into the world of politics and the new city's Mayor!).
The idea of petitioning the a government isn’t new, but using your COMP system to directly add your suggestions and idea for our fine staff to review over is! And at the start of each new year we ask the citizens of Hinoto-Ri what they hope we can accomplish in the upcoming new year.
And so, our Greatest Heroes, Our Visitors from Other Worlds, I ask you this;
What do you think we could do to improve Hinoto-Ri? To make her a strong city, to push boundaries, to one day understand how we came to be this way?
This is no small task, but I am determined to do it one way or another!
My administration is committed to creating an unprecedented level of openness in government. We will work TOEGETHER to ensure the public trust and establish a system of transparency, public participation and collaboration!!! Openness will strengthen our democracy and promote efficiency and efffectiveness in government, this I am certain of. As it was with how the Featherman Rangers had to come together to defeat the enemies, with your help too, shall Hinoto-Ri free itself of oppression and become a great city, despite the troubling times that surround us.
Thank you for your time, and MAY YOUR IDEAS BRING THE TRUTH AND FRUIT OF WISDOM!
- The Honorable Mayor, Red Hawk Kazuki Sakahagi
[This is just a silly thing where you can leave in comments about how your characters IC would want to see the city become better or not.
You can IC complain about your roomates, and you ARE allowed to leave in anon comments from your characters (YES ANON HAS BEEN TURNED ON) or just to start debates. REMEMBER THIS IS ALL IN GOOD FUN.
Who knows, maybe the biggest ones might end up changing the face of the city one day...
...or this may just end up with everyone annoyed at each other.]

(Anonymous) 2013-01-12 06:28 am (UTC)(link)text the whole time, but pfff to subjects, right?
so someone wants everyone to stab their food with those?
why would stabbing food with one stick work better than with three or four like forks have?
[text] don't need anon for this
pffff oh man.
((nice. XD))
Re: pffff oh man.
Nah, just a special way of typing.
These are chopsticks.
no subject
im still not sure how that would be better than using a fork
what if the food is too small to stab?
what do you do with it then?
((these are important questions, clearly. Even though he doesn't eat human food.))
no subject
Much quicker than having to use a knife for every bite!
((I've actually heard those questions irl... Reasonable enough questions, I suppose!))
no subject
if the sticks are thinner than knives how is it quicker?
((Oh, they are! I can't disagree there. I just find it funny as he can't eat chopstick-relevant foods anyway. ...I type, as I finish eating stuff with my nice steel pair... haha.))
no subject
Because you don't have to keep switching utensils!
((Anything is edible with chopsticks if you try hard enough. >*3 except pickled onions those fuckers are tricky.))
no subject
but all ice cream needs is a spoon not a knife
so i dont see how that would be any faster
and if food falls off more easily then wouldnt it be more efficient to keep using the knife instead?
((haven't had pickled onions before; did manage to eat fruit salad way faster than the people that looked at me funny who were using forks, though! >:3))
no subject
No one would use a knife on rice! It's much easier with chopsticks. Just gotta trust me on this k.
((they're very slippery, so they're hard to grip. =/ ))
no subject
but if rice is a grain it would fall off faster
knives are wider and they should be able to hold more at once
right?
((I can imagine. And this one lad nar dish I had, the gravy was really slick, so that wasn't doing the rice noodles any favors that way....))
no subject
No cooked rice sticks to itself. Here lemme get another pic.
((I'm really embarrassed when I can't get a grip on udon. ;_; I guess that's what the spoon is for, though: to sort of catch the bottom part so they don't splash back down in that case.))
no subject
but people put ice cream into cake?
so it really is quite like wheat only white
but even if it sticks together it does still look like a fork would work just fine
((No one's perfect. I haven't eaten at restaurants where people wouldn't look at me really funny for it that often, though. Pizza with chopsticks just seems a bit silly. :) ))
no subject
I don't think wheat can be eaten whole like that though... I guess you could use a fork but that's weird.
((Bah utensils for pizza is overrated! I do remember seeing someone trying to eat cheerios by threading them one by one. I told them it'd be easier just to shovel them in but she didn't listen.))
no subject
i remember i used to have cooked wheat that was a bit mashed up for breakfast sometimes
it would often have a little salt or butter on it or sometimes cream or fruit
but that needed a spoon or toasted bread to scoop it out with
((hence why I mostly use my chopsticks at home. :) I find I tend toward more chopsticks-friendly food when I cook for myself, haha.))
no subject
((I usually use them most when I go out... I cook the same way but I still use a fork, haha. Unless it's ramen or udon or something, then I get a pair of chopsticks.))
no subject
like oats and barley
you havent had it before though?
((Huh. I eat a lot of rice at home; it's amazing what flavors a good bowl full of jasmine rice will pick up. :) Cooking it with a tea bag in it and maybe some dried fruit is always a fun thing, too. Can make some amazing breakfasts/lunches that way.))
no subject
((Haha, even when I eat rice, I usually use a fork if I put something on top of it. That sounds really good though. I'll have to try the teabag thing. Maybe with dried mangoes?))
perhaps they should meet up and confusion for them/lulz for us ensue?
i think i may still remember how to make it if you want to try it sometime?
i could show you the wheat cereal and you could show me what you mean about the sticks perhaps?
((I'd rec it. Just cut them up small first and add a bit of extra water; they'll be soaking up some as well! Other fun things to try: "wildberry zinger" tea, with a handful of dried sweetened cranberries. And plum tea, with some chopped-up prunes. Oh man. ♥ Actually, don't even really need the tea for that one, imho. That's another thing -- might want to try making the tea first, taking the bag out after it's all used up, then using the tea itself for the rice's water. Less complicated like that.
And one of my sisters brought home this chipotle raspberry sauce stuff that is absolutely incredible, so I've been just having otherwise plain bowls of rice with a couple tablespoons of that stuff mixed in. OMG so good. ♥
Also, yesterday's breakfast: rice pudding. Overcooked rice with too much water, milk, vanilla, raisins, brown cane sugar, and cinnamon. Mmmm.....))
I would be amendable to that X3
((dang that sounds good. why don't you aim me so we could talk more?))
\o/
the name seems like it should be obvious but what do you stir and fry when you make it?

i think it depended on what they were for soups or whatever was made
and i havent asked the humans in the citadel what they do with theirs
i bet they put some in their rolls though
i saw someone eating one of those not too long before i came here and it smelled like it could have been that
