I'm just wondering. Does anyone else have a problem that there's actual demons wandering around? I mean… they're demons. Aren't they all supposed to be evil? Or possess people or something? It seems like no one's really bothered that there are some on the streets and stuff. We didn't really talk about them much at church… but still.


On a semi-related note, I haven't been able to find any churches in this city. I know Japan's not heavily Christian, but there should be at least one around, right?

I think it's important to consider actions rather than names. Most of the 'demons' don't act evil, so they aren't. People here also apply the name to beings that resemble fairies or angels in addition to the traditional 'demons', as well.

I used to think like this before, too. I have never been part of a church or anything, but...

Back in my world, my Master always taught us that Darkness was something that we would be better without. That fear led to obsession and that it beckoned the Dark, and those who were of Darkness were to be defeated because they're evil and disrupt the peace light provides.

But he was wrong. My brother and his chosen both fell prey, but they're the most sincere and honest boys I know. Even if completely clueless, sometimes.

I think that everyone has a capacity for good or evil, no matter what they are. Even demons.

The demons here certainly aren't like the ones you're accustomed to at home, I'm sure. Still, I believe that 'evil' is a bit too general of a term to categorize all demons under, even if they are technically on the side of Evil.

[Just like how he doesn't consider himself particularly good despite being on the side of Good.]

That being said, one of my closest friends back home is a demon, a fallen angel actually. And really, he wasn't such a bad guy. He just hung around the wrong people.

[Crowley would probably kill him for saying that but hey, they were worlds apart, he was going to call the old serpent a good guy all he wanted.]

I can't claim to be an expert on this subject, but I don't think anyone can. "Demon" is sort of a loose term when you're dealing with people from different dimensions or planes or whatever. Maybe where they come from "demons" are not inherently evil. If they are not causing any problems, you'd be smart to leave well enough alone.

so demons include fairies, devils, angels, gods & goddesses, spirits, ghosts, etc.

You can't believe everything you're taught. Some people lie. Anyway, that doesn't even make sense. Would you think it's fair that someone said all humans were evil just because they were taught that way?
