There's nothing wrong with having faith, especially if it gives you hope. Even if you don't know for sure, anything's better than nothing. It's what keeps you going, right? I think that's good enough.
About those aliens, though--I bet you they're more powerful than humans, aren't they? Beings like that are always pulling that stuff with humans. They think humans are so fragile that they treat them like toys! It's wrong and they shouldn't do it. Humans are stronger than that! Humans always find a way to fight back and win!
I suppose you're right. Hope is very important, I've come to realize.
Significantly. You'd think they would be a little wary of us, considering the power they can grant to us has to be equal to the potential dormant within us, but no. What they find interesting about us are our emotions, and manipulate us into falling into despair to increase their energy quota. To them, emotions are equivalent to a mental disorder. It's sickening. They prey on us like lesser beings.
That really is sick. Where I'm from, gods do that, too. There are some gods that protect humans, but there are so many others that think just because humans are so much weaker than gods, they can do whatever they want. It's cruel, especially when you thin about how much faith people put in the gods.
