"On the wall by the door..." Gale rose to his feet and switched his COMP's video feed from the watch's camera to his glasses'. He then walked to the small device by the door, which was indeed the thermostat. It was visibly turned all the way down.

"What would be the ideal setting for this device?" The numbers on it meant nothing to him. The Junkyard's unchanging weather had always been warm enough that the bases did not need heating.

I guess that depends on what temperature you're comfortable with. Mine goes by, uh, Celsius, I think. 18 or 19, maybe?

Gale turns the button up to 18. Well, that was simple enough. "Thank you. I will experiment from there."

I'd presume the same folks boarding us and putting up with us in exchange for services, which is to say the government of Hinoto-Ri. Kind of hard to complain, although it feels a bit like I got drafted.

They haven't given me much to write on here yet, mostly I've been editing while waiting for assignments.

Back home, I worked for Coolest, a teen magazine. I mostly wrote about pop culture, current trends, things like that! Although the last story I had been working on was something a whole lot juicier. They let me work on a murder case.

"Is a murder case really an appropriate story to cover for teenagers?" Gale wasn't really familiar with teen magazines, and he was realizing that his understanding of journalism might be flawed. This was new, and very worrying.

The murder itself isn't, but the rumor tied to the string of murders is something that all of the high school kids have been playing with. It's dangerous, and they need to know.
