...I'd like to ask a few questions about these 'personas' we were given, if I may.

What is the nature of the contracts we've signed to receive them? What is the catch? What do they want from us in return?

My memories of the time are foggy, and I would never have willingly agreed to anything of the sort so easily. I need to know what I've signed up for with these unusual abilities we've been given.

It's your choice to decide what to do with your power. The contract is saying you'll take responsibility for the results of your own actions.

Forgive me for being skeptical, but it seems a little odd that they'd take us here and give us new powers with the only catch being we have to be responsible for our actions.

Well... Apparently what they'd like you to do is use it to solve the mysteries of this place, but no one can force that to happen.

That seems like a very one sided bargain. Surely they expect something of us in return, beyond a mere suggestion.

Persona is a power from inside yourself... you aren't borrowing it from someone else. I don't see any reason to require anything more.

In short, it just means that you'll accept full responsibility for your actions.

Well... I don't think anything. Why do you ask?

I don't think you have to worry about that. There's no manipulation behind the contract, and it's exactly what it reads. You control your own power, and you take responsibility for it.

A word of advice in your ear, alright? You're not going to get a straight answer asking questions like that, or any questions about Personas come to think of it.

If you don't wanna summon one though, don't. Just think of it as being given a gun. Nobody is gonna make you shoot anyone with it.

Though on the other hand, everyone else out there has a gun in their hand too, so you might want to learn how to shoot that sucker before shit gets real, know what I mean?

That's a little worrying to hear. Why wouldn't we be able to get any of our questions answered about the nature of Personas?

Okay, maybe it's not that you'll get no answer but you'll never get an answer that doesn't involve some roundabout way of saying absolutely fucking nothing.

You could always get a friend, and a tazer and then summon your Persona that way. If it goes badly then get someone to zap you a new one. Problem solved, right?

I was allowed one wish, and in exchange I had to fight to protect my city from monsters. However, the price was much steeper than I was ever told of. I, and anyone else who made this agreement, was doomed to a life of pain, suffering, and death-- the greater our wish, the more suffering we had to bare in return. But no one would ever agree to something like that if you were honest about the consequences, would they?
Contracts for power are always bad news.
