[Joshua is holding his wrist out before him, smiling at the watch's camera. This thing is interesting... this whole place, really, is interesting to him. He's sitting in a cafe, with a steaming cup of coffee in his hand. While aware of his need to spare the money he had for food here- after all he was practically human again- it did good to rest his nerves.]
I've been investigating this extra thirteenth hour in the day as others are calling it. It's quite interesting, really, for more reasons than one. Most interestingly... restrictions on my abilities are lifted during the Thirteenth Hour.
[In other words, he's completely human every other hour of the day, and that's incredibly frustrating.]
I'm perfectly aware that there are those here who are more experienced with this world than I am. I'd like to know more about the Thirteenth Hour, if it's possible. What exactly it is, why it exists, what effects it has on this world... Anything you can tell me~

Ah, and here I thought being grounded and being 'on restriction' were synonymous. It seems there's a bit of vernacular dissonance to blame for the misunderstanding.
[Little punk, not appreciating my obtuse analogies gtfo. Lea's not used to having to rein in anger--he's not used to having to acknowledge he feels it at all--but this kid's really getting under his skin.]
Funny. Usually when people make a point of publicly announcing that they're being oppressed in any way, they want to go on and on about it at length. Our obviously skewed perceptions of one another's intelligence notwithstanding, I find myself wondering why you bothered making knowledge of your daily shortcomings everyone's business if they're nobody's business.
no subject
You seem to have an entirely skewed perception of what I was even saying. I was making it known that I have restrictions every hour of the day except for the Thirteenth Hour so I could learn more about why I'm being restricted. I want to know what's so special about this Thirteenth Hour. The exact nature of my abilities is irrelevant.
Why is it that you want to know so badly anyway~? And what makes you think I would tell you after this stupendously nosy display?
no subject
You would have brought a lot less attention to yourself if you'd simply asked about the Thirteenth Hour rather than mentioning your usual state of power-impotence, but I digress.
And I hardly feel like I owe you any explanations when you've been so adamant not to offer any yourself. Nosiness is relative, curly.
[He just likes knowing what he's up against, hour notwithstanding, and you are officially going on his list, Mister. Whatever your abilities may be he's already confident you're predisposed to being a pain in the ass.]
no subject
I don't see why you're so bent out of shape for a simple question. If someone told you they needed food for a child, would you start questioning them about the whereabouts and identity of the child, then insult them for mentioning the child at all and tell them that they should have just asked for some food?
From the way it sounds, you have no real purpose in asking me about my abilities, merely some insatiable curiosity about something that isn't any of your business.

Why didn't you just tell me you thought I was dangerous? [He laughs a little and shakes his head, before giving Lea a devious smirk.] You're right, you know, my power is potentially dangerous. But you're wrong to think that I would ever use them against anyone unprovoked.
I'm not a dangerous person, trust me. I'm the one keeping the dangerous person here in check.
omg i literally LOL'd your Joshua is great XD
Uh. Wow, okay, most people get less cooperative if you say you think they're a potential threat. They seem to take offense to the idea and then demonstrate how dangerous they're capable of being. [Have a moment of unadulterated befuddlement on Lea's part, but the indignation and anger that was there a moment ago is now nowhere to be found.] Surely you understand I was hoping to avoid that.
Admittedly now I'm curious as to the identity of this person you say is actually dangerous. [He ventures a hint of a grin.] Or is that too nosy?
[He can deal with having been wrong about you, Josh. He might even apologize for the mistake, eventually. But he's not just gonna take your word for it...]
no subject
[He giggles and tilts his head to one side, thinking about it.] I wouldn't say it'd be all that fair to him, especially considering he's so far kept his destructive side to a minimum... but if you're really worried, I'll let you know.
[ooc: aww thank you <3 sorry to make you wait I had to go on a cleaning crusade orz those germs don't know what hit them, may the wrath of comet have mercy on their souls.]
no subject
Fair enough. If you say you're not in this to hurt anybody that'll do, I suppose. For what it's worth I'm not worried for me, really; there's a few people that are here, though, that I'm... keenly interested in ascertaining their safety. If there's someone here who's dangerous enough that he has to be kept in check by another party, I'd be interested in making sure he was steered clear of.
[He waves a hand then.]
I'm not really looking to start any trouble. Really, picking fights isn't my style--too much effort; got it memorized? [What is being anything but socially retarded and emotionally inept?]
[ooc: no worries! i actually do this often. germs are evil and must be destroyed. 8|]

He's from my world, a Reaper named Sho Minamimoto. He's eccentric, violent, and dangerous if you get in his way.
That being said, he isn't above the law in this world, and I've warned him not to hurt anyone. Like I said, keeping him in check.
He's been cooperative so far.
no subject
I'll keep an eye out for that name, though. Eccentric, violent, and dangerous is a pretty volatile cocktail, even if he's been behaving thus far. I'll keep the info under my hood. Cross my heart.
[A pause as Lea takes a moment to debate how to voice appreciation for the information, contrition for the misunderstanding, and gratitude for the boy's efforts to keep this dangerous person in check without betraying his cool exterior. Shh, it's totally a cool exterior you shut your mouth.]
So... maybe let's start over, then. I'm Lea. Got a name?
no subject
[Joshua tilts his head curiously at Lea. Hm... he seemed to be much less hostile now, he could probably trust him with a name...]
Yoshiya Kiryu... Most people call me 'Joshua', however.
no subject
[He's really not a belligerent guy, Josh, he's just socially retarded and kind of emotionally inept. He's still trying to remember what it's like to really have emotions for real again, so bear with him.]
Joshua, huh? Nice to meet you. Er, s-- ah... [He rubs the crown of his head awkwardly.] Sorry. About, you know. Before. Being straightforward's never been my forté--I'm not used to people being reasonable when asked that sort of question.
i apologize if that previous tag was incoherent, i was on the brink of passing out orz
[Joshua laughs a little and gives a small shrug.] A pleasure to meet you as well, Lea. I assure you, it's never really been my forté to make anything easy for really anyone. A bad habit, you could call it.
no worries <3
[Well, but only certain people. Most people can go suck an egg for all he cares, but he'll leave that part out for now. A chuckle and he waves a hand at Joshua.]
Well, I suppose it's a bad habit we share, then. I'll do my best to tone it down a little next time we chat.
[Because he has a feeling there will be a next time.]
no subject
[He really needs to learn how to use his Persona more effectively to make sure that he can take on Sho during the normal hours of the day.]
Will there be a next time, then~?
no subject
All right; I'm gonna hold you to it, though.
[And then he grins a bit.]
Let's just say I think there's a good chance we'll cross paths again in the future. ['Cuz you kinda seem like trouble. Not necessarily the bad kind, but Lea's found he's always had a knack for finding trouble. Or, at least for trouble finding him.]
no subject
If he causes you any troubles, let me know immediately~
And I would say that sounds like a pleasant encounter, you certainly seem interesting enough, Lea.
