[Joshua is holding his wrist out before him, smiling at the watch's camera. This thing is interesting... this whole place, really, is interesting to him. He's sitting in a cafe, with a steaming cup of coffee in his hand. While aware of his need to spare the money he had for food here- after all he was practically human again- it did good to rest his nerves.]

I've been investigating this extra thirteenth hour in the day as others are calling it. It's quite interesting, really, for more reasons than one. Most interestingly... restrictions on my abilities are lifted during the Thirteenth Hour.

[In other words, he's completely human every other hour of the day, and that's incredibly frustrating.]

I'm perfectly aware that there are those here who are more experienced with this world than I am. I'd like to know more about the Thirteenth Hour, if it's possible. What exactly it is, why it exists, what effects it has on this world... Anything you can tell me~

We're still trying to figure that out... There was an hour similar to it for a while in the world I'm from, but I don't think they two are related.

[ At least, not directly. He doesn't sound completely confident in the unrelatedness, though. After all, what was with that Scorpio monster? Could this be like the Dark Hour and the Full Moon Shadows? He's sincerely hoping that the Thirteenth Hour is not the same sort of sign of the impending end of the world... ]

How are you abilities different during the extra hour, if you don't mind my asking?

Something similar in your world...? My, what are the odds of that?

[There's no way that's a coincidence.

Joshua gives a small shrug.] I'd demonstrate for you, but sadly it isn't the proper hour~ My Persona is easier to summon, however, and... let's just say my mind is much more deadly.

[ Minato shrugs in return. He doesn't think it's coincidence, but he doesn't think that means things are the way they are for the same reasons. After all, Personas and other things are just enough different here... ]

Probably very good. Personas also existed in my world, but we didn't have any demons so far as I know.

And I see... perhaps another time, then.

[ He's still very curious. ~~He wants to see you drop things on other things with your cell phone.~~ ]

[~~There's nothing that can't be solved with the power of falling vending machines.~~]

I'd rather not exert myself unless there's a real need to... but I suppose a few stray demons can suffer at the expense of some effort.

It sounds to me, though, as if this might be a parallel universe to your own... Perhaps something happened differently in this world than yours in the past. Branching timelines are a possibility.

[ A parallel universe... ]

That's possible. It's hard to really know. It's possible all the worlds we come from are parallel with branching timelines and that extremely different worlds may just be other planets in other solar systems.

[ But then again, when you get to speculating like that, where does it end? ]

[The answer is it doesn't end.]

This universe contains things that are similar, if not exactly the same as yours, correct? Sounds like a parallel universe to me. And everyone, from all sorts of different universes, have been drawn to it...

What was the cause of your 'extra hour' in your world?

[ Oh good lord that thread... ]

I guess so. [ He shrugs, as it seems as good an explanation as any. ]

Ah... it's... a bit of a long story, but the short version is that it was caused by experimentation on Shadows and an attempt to bring about something called The Fall, which is... the end of all life, basically, though I'm not sure how much was known about what would happen by all involved.

The end of all life..... [Huh. Well then.] That doesn't make this world sound particularly safe, if it is parallel to yours. In fact, considering this place is crawling with monsters, I'd say that's a rather unfortunate prospect.

Do you think the possibility exists that something similar could have caused this Thirteenth Hour?

[ There's a slight hesitation, and then Minato lets out his breath in a sigh. ]

Unfortunately, yes. Not knowing much on the history of this place, I don't know how much of a possibility it is, however.

... in my world, the Fall almost happened in January, 2010. It was permanently stopped, however. [ Well... as permanently as he could make it, at any rate. ]

... As far as I can tell, this city is completely isolated from the rest of the world, for reasons quite mysterious...

If the Fall were to happen, is it possible that anyone could survive it? Perhaps this is a world where it wasn't stopped? [A morbid prospect but a possibility nonetheless.]

[ Minato is quiet for a moment, thinking about it, but then he shakes his head. ]

No. No humans, anyway.

[ Maybe Aigis and any other robots... Though, if he was completely honest, Minato isn't entirely sure anything other than humans would have been killed, but at the same time Ryoji had spoken of all life being extinguished... ]

Hmm... Something disruptive must have happened. This is definitely a reality split from your own, but I can't tell how so. To be honest, there's likely a number of actions and conditions for this world that have caused it to be so different.

[He didn't like speculating so much, but it was better than leaving himself entirely in the dark.]

I suppose so... Without knowing the entire history of this world, it's hard to narrow down what those actions might have been, though.

And I'm afraid finding an entire history of this world would be impossible, from what I have heard. We may only receive pieces, and likely not all of them.

Still, it's not what's different that I'm concerned about. What is the same can lead to clues about the nature of this place.

I suppose so, but it's hard to know what's really the same if you aren't sure where the differences lies.
