The influx of energy from this one is massive, completely unsubtle, almost as if purposefully designed to attract the attention of anyone with any sense whatsoever of the divine. It doesn’t fade away nor does it seem to be easily localized. This surely wasn’t ‘Magatama Energy’…

Whatever ambiguity this might present is cleared up almost immediately. Despite that no one may be in the vicinity, the voice of a young girl sounds clearly throughout the city of Hinoto-Ri to nearly every inhabitant, as intelligibly as if the speaker were standing right next to those she addressed. …Perhaps too intelligibly. The first sound they hear is an vehement, despairing cry.]

This can’t be…! The forests… The oceans… The deserts and mountains, the tundra and the plains! W-Where are they?! Who did this?! What did you do to them?!

[For a few moments, the speaker seems too overwhelmed with ire to speak.  The sound of her breathing eventually slows...]

I knew this would happen.  In every world across every dimension, it doesn’t matter! You -- you’re all the same! See for yourself! This is what will happen if you tear through all of nature without respect for anything but your own wealth and gain! Are you happy?! My children… 100 million species. One hundred million. There's almost nothing left...

I am Viridi, Goddess of Nature, ruler of the Earth and all living things! And I will not allow this land to be desecrated any further.

They say there are monsters ravaging what remains. If you stand against them, then... heed the command of a goddess and CRUSH them!

"Humans! For every one that works for 'recovery', there's a thousand more who put the world in a situation that needs to be recovered from in the first place! And now you're moving on to different worlds! It's like some sort of unstoppable plague!"

"Actually Mars and the Jovian moons were colonized far before I was born. That being said, the thousand more who are trying to destroy the worlds do exist, but its no longer thousands more. Given the damage done to all the ecosystems, those people tend to fall from grace quickly and if they do survive it is a rather pathetic existence alone. No one likes people who make it so you can't live anywhere."

"Hmph!"

Viridi is not a graceful conceder. "At least you're finally learning. It's too bad you've already gone through, what is that, two planets and a few dozen moons? I'll tell you what's gonna happen next - you'll die, three generations down the line, the new humans will forget all about the 'atrocity' of war, and you're going to do it all over again."

"That is a distinct possibility, though, I give odds on it taking at least 20 generations for humanity to recover from the self inflicted wounds its given itself and restore the damage done to the various worlds. Perhaps with that amount of time the culture will be reinvented."

"You never learn for good. Things only get worse and worse as you develop more and more advanced technology to destroy more of the Earth in one go."

Viridi actually sounds slightly melancholy instead of angry.

"One day, you'll blast yourselves into extinction. And I won't even get to gloat because you'll have killed me long before that."

"Perhaps then, the Earth will be lucky and a plague other than the one of stupidity will save the worlds at least. I'm just a girl, and not really one who knows these things."

She would sound sorry for making a little girl sad if she actually had a sense of empathy. ...Or, well, if she was actually willing to show her sense of empathy, anyway.

"Much as I've considered that possibility, plagues can spread to perfectly innocent animals, too. And that's not an excuse. If you don't know about these things, then you can go learn."
