This is Lt. Commander Hoshino Ruri of the United Earth Space Fleet and captain of the battleship Nadesico. I know some things have happened lately and regret being unable to give proper support for them, but I'm learning the limits of what one person can do. Given technological differences is there anyone who was brought that has expertise in engineering, automation or advanced AI concepts? I've been working on a project that I suspect is several dozen if not over a hundred man hours and doing it alone has not proven to lead to being able to act quickly.

Also, if anyone knows where 06-09 in the Libra sector is, I would appreciate a tour. I haven't yet had enough time to screen all the map data for Omoikane so would probably get lost and once I finish up here I probably should see what sort of accommodations they have set aside for us here. Odds are that if I can't find a lake or something to put down in shuttling up and down may necessitate my staying there.

Its only theological if the end user is incapable of understanding logic in my experience. Its not like you can just paint a machine red to have it go faster or something.

No, then we'd be orks. And I'd have to disagree, at a certain point objects become too complex for anything other than a specialist to utilize them. Thus: The martian priesthood. I wear a fusion-bottle backpack, but I cannot build or design one myself, and can only monitor the functionality. This is not a failure of logic inasmuch as it is a specialization of training. A techpriest doesn't have my tactical abilities.

Not all specialists are priests though. I've known some technicians that make up religious rituals in their repairs to placate the uninformed, but I've never heard of a religious caste devoted to technology.

Is a fusion bottle similar to a microfusion reactor?

Possibly. It is man-portable. I'm unfamiliar with the concept of micro-fusion myself.

Micro fusion reactors were experimental, and somewhat unstable. But they were designed to be man powered fusion generators. Usually for piloting small vehicles or robots if enough were used.

It is not dissimilar, then.

The Imperium tends to use more flex-fuel drive vehicles but for power armor, Titans, and the Legio Cybernetica Maniples we use fusion generators of various size.

The Jovian federation used a lot of micro fusion. The Earth forces tend to use other forms.

I however am willing to wager you are from a different Earth than I am, if you are even from Earth.

I am from Cthonia, though i am descended of people from Earth.

Hrm, as I've never heard of that colony, I will speculate you are either from a different point in the timeline, probably in the future, or a different reality entirely.

Most likely the future. Many people here seem to be from a long ago age of Terra, before it had even reached the stars.

Is boson jump technology still used?

I'm not sure. I haven't heard it described. How does it function?

Faster than light travel, point to point teleportation using the Higgs boson particle theory.

We are able to teleport, but I don't think that is the method used.

I was just curious if the time variance issue was ever fixed.

UNfortunately our methods of interstellar travel still involve a risk of temporal displacement, though from my understanding it is small unless you are taking risks.

So people can still end up sent back hundreds of thousands of years. That's problematic.

I will concede the possibility, but we never heard from them again so it is only conjecture.

Oh, we've had proof that that error happens. But the science is still being deciphered from the alien civilization that gave it to us.
