[The feed begins--and will later end--with the face of a young woman. Her expression is stern as she carefully sets her new communication watch on the nightstand. She sits on her bed, arms folded and legs crossed, holding herself with dignity and poise. The image she's trying to present is somewhat ruined by a haphazard pile of stuffed animals behind her--but she's obviously trying to make the best of an uncertain situation.]

Good evening, Hinoto-Ri. My name is Cloche Leythal Pastalia. [She pauses--just for a moment--as if there was some other part of her name that she was used to including.] Like many of you who read this network, I am a new arrival to this city--a "Registered Extraterrestrial Guest." I arrived just this afternoon, in fact.

My home is Metafalss, which floats above the Sea of Death in Ar Ciel. [She unfolds her arms, gracefully resting one hand over her heart.] If those names mean anything to you, I would truly appreciate it if you made contact with me. Even if we were strangers there, please, do not hesitate to contact me--collaboration could only beneficial to us all.

I am eager to learn more of the circumstances not just of this world, but of those that you call home. I honestly believe that, by understanding each other and working together, we can better come to understand this city and the mysteries surrounding it. [Cloche stands and retrieves her watch. She walks carefully, so as to not jar the camera.] To facilitate that mutual understanding, I would like to share some information about something that has come with me from Metafalss.

And that... [At this point, she reaches the door of her balcony which she opens, with a flourish.] Is the Infel Pira. [Cloche turns the camera to the sky. Although it is tremendously far away, the latest addition to Hinoto-Ri's skyline is visible from Cloche's bedroom window.] The Infel Pira is my Song Server, the source of Song Magic for myself and other IPD Reyvateils. The shape may seem strange to you but, I assure you, it is a benign structure. As the Maiden of Aqua, I swear that it will cause no harm to the innocent citizens of this city.

[With that said, Cloche returns the camera's view to her own face.] I can only hope that my explanation has eased any concerns you may have about it. [She closes her eyes, looking contemplative.] This evening, I know very little. [She opens them again, a determined expression on her face.] But tomorrow morning, I shall know more. Each and every day presents itself a new opportunity to learn.

To all those who have listened... thank you very much for your time. I wish you all nothing but the best. Good night.

[Cloche does not fumble with the buttons of the watch. She neatly ends the feed after her closing remarks.]

Try anyway, mamzel. Particularly this... magic. [ There is a great distaste in his filtered voice. Even so, he's taken by her formal method of speaking. He's quite formal himself, after all.]

I am afraid I am only familiar with basic Wave Theory, but I'll do my best. [Cloche adjusts her pose on the bed, taking a more "lecturing" stance.] I am a Reyvateil. My Song Magic is both crafted and powered by my emotions. To create Song Magic, I generate Dynamic H-Waves within my Cosmosphere. I send them through the Tower of Life rooted in my Cosmosphere, which is connected to the Infel Pira. The Infel Pira then processes these H-Waves and converts them into D-Waves, which are based on the emotions carried by the H-Waves, and sends them back to me. When I sing, these D-Waves manifest as my Song Magic in a physical, tangible form.

Is that satisfactory?

You appear quite human to me. Are you some sort of psyker? This sounds too.... organized to be sorcery.

As I have said before, I am not human. I am a Reyvateil. I'm afraid I don't know what a psyker is.

[ The deep voiced warrior removes his helm, exposing a face that is very craggy, and somewhat pale, scars covering a face that is generally described as handsome, the warrior has very pronounced masculine features, so square jawed as to almost be a parody, the subtle hints of genehancement or genetic-engineering writ all over the Knight-Errant. His hair is light blond, almost silver, and cut very short, the better to fit in his helm.]

A psyker is someone who manipulates supernatural phenomena through technological and controlled ritualistic methods.

And if you are not human, then why do you look human? [ There is a small hint of a suspicious frown on his face, though the microexpression is easier to read on someone built rather larger than normal scale. ]

I see. I suppose you could define Song Magic under that definition--in Metafalss, we study Song Magic and Reyvateils through Sound Science.

I was born a human, but awakened as a Reyvateil. The awakening process changed my body so I became capable of preforming Song Magic. It's just not something humans are physically able to do.

I understand. [ And seems to sympathize, as well. Something like recognition plays over his grey eyes, and the frown goes away, replaced by a more neutral expression that might almost be sad. ]

So you are posthuman, then. Was it something that you chose? Do you have duties?

[The changes in his attitude are subtle--but clear. Cloche feels a sense of pride in allaying some of his suspicions.]

It was not something that I chose for myself. It was a potential I carried with me from birth. [It happened so long ago that she cannot even remember what it was like to be a human.] However, I cannot imagine my life without being a Reyvateil. It is an important part of who I am.

Reyvateils lead many walks of life. I have responsibilities as the Maiden of Aqua, but they are not shared by all Reyvateils.

I see, I am Astartes. [ Because that explains everything, Garvi. ]

I see. What do those responsibilities entail? [ Probably not conquering entire star systems like him, but hey, they might. </small.]

It's a pleasure, sir. [She smiles, briefly.] Many things. But, in essence--I live to guide the people of Metafalss to a better and brighter future.

I think I misled you, somewhat. My name is Garviel loken, and my... existence is to be a member of the Legiones Astartes, as you are Reyvateil. My duty is to help guide humanity and protect it as it moves towards a bright and better future as well, though I did so as a warrior.

[ After a confused look he does smile back. ]

Well! [Flustered by her mistake, Cloche covers her embarrassment with a frown.] Your title still serves as an introduction, of sorts.
